Scholarship Promotion

This is your headquarters for all things Scholarship Promotion!

TheDream.US 2023-2024 round has successfully launched!

We have distributed the following press releases announcing the round:

17 new PCs

We have added 17 new Partner Colleges in this round. Check them out here.

We encourage you to create a local press release for your city or state. TheDream.US can work with your Partner College's communications or media team to help spread the word locally about our partnership.

See this example from a new partner, Northern Illinois University.

If you are interested in participating in a joint press release, please reach out to gaby.pacheco@thedream.us.

MUST KNOW

Today: Join "I Stand with Immigrants" Day of Action!

Across the country over 200 colleges and universities are celebrating the 7th annual I Stand With Immigrants Day.

TheDream.US has put out a statement here.

We encourage partner colleges to share stories from their campuses to celebrate immigrants in our communities.

Resources to help:

  • Please see the Presidents’ Alliance social media toolkit here, with graphics, sample social media posts, and other resources - the focus is on higher ed and Dreamers.
  • FWD.us also has more general I Stand With Immigrants (ISWI) resources and social media, which can be found here.
  • ACE has updated the Take Action page on the Remember the Dreamers site to reflect the current urgency and asks of Congress.
  • Please see the Presidents’ Alliance Op-Ed drafting resource here

This is a critical moment as we call on Congress to pass legislation to protect Dreamers this year. We are very excited to have hundreds of students, educators, partner organizations, and other allies amplifying that message.

Best Practices Alert!

Coalition and Community Building: Supporting GA’s Undocumented Students in Higher Education” at Oglethorpe University

Last Friday (10/28), Oglethorpe University hosted a day conference bringing together 200 students, Higher Ed practitioners, and CBOs to share best practices, information, and resources to better support Georgia’s undocumented students. The event was also a call to action against the state’s prohibitive laws, actively barring enrollment of undocumented students in public institutions of higher education.

Please see this flyer outlining the programming for the day.

To learn more and connect, contact Peter Dye, Assistant Director of Community and Global Engagement at pdye@oglethorpe.edu.
