Designate a Career Services Advisor by Oct 15th

To help our Scholars launch their careers, we are asking each of our Partner College Relationship Managers to designate a Career Services Advisor who can serve as a point of contact for our Scholars. Here is the role description:

The Career Services Advisor (CSA) is familiar with the career opportunities and employment rights for DREAMers with and without DACA/TPS and works with our Scholars to provide relevant career counseling given their immigration status.

A good candidate for this role works in your Career Services Centers. We will be providing information and resources to these advisors to help them in this role.

Please fill out this Google Sheet by October 15th to give us the name and contact information for the Career Services Advisor. If you have already provided the name for a CSA, please confirm on the form (Column A) that this person will continue in that role.

Please join us for a working session to discuss what our Scholars said about their experiences this past year and how this can inform institutional practices in the midst of an ongoing pandemic.

We will discuss key narratives from the 2019-20 Scholar Survey, focusing on the impact of COVID-19 on college, career, and personal livelihood; and, we will break into small groups to share ideas and connect across campuses in the following areas:

Financial supports in this economic downturn
Mental health supports
Immigration status and legal support
Helping Scholars graduate on time
Leveraging the Scholar Advisor role

Join us for the 2021-2022 Scholarship Promotional Kick-Off Event

On October 21st, from 1:30-2:30 pm ET we will be hosting our yearly Promotional Kickoff via Zoom.

We will talk about our updated immigration eligibility criteria; share our new and improved marketing guide; and give our best tips on how to best promote the Scholarship to future Scholars.
