2024 PC Directory Update Starts Next Week, September 11

As we kick off the new Academic Year and head into scholarship application season, we want to ensure we have correct information for our main contacts at your college. 

Starting next Wednesday, September 11 through Wednesday, September 25, we will be asking you to send us staff changes or contact updates. 

Please start reviewing your college’s contacts and role descriptions for TheDream.US Team on-campus. We will be back next week with more.

Your support in spotlighting TheDream.US Scholars underscores our collective commitment to supporting immigrant youth and supports your recruitment efforts for the upcoming application round.

Professional Conference Grant open to attend the ANCC National Magnet Conference

TheDream.US Scholars who are juniors and seniors, or graduates working in the nursing field are invited to apply for funding to attend and participate in the ANCC National Magnet and ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference for Nursing Professionals in New Orleans, LA. This provides them the opportunity to network with top professionals, access innovative practices, and apply cutting-edge research to elevate their nursing career. They can also earn Continuing Education credits to meet licensure requirements and stay current with industry standards.  

TheDream.US will assist eligible Scholars and Alumni with the following major expenses associated with attending or presenting at this conference:

• Conference registration fee

• Air/train fare

• Up to 3-nights of lodging at the conference hotel

Graduate Loan Scholarship Application is Now Closed

The Graduate Loan Scholarship Program for Alumni that took out any private student loans for graduate school for the 2024-2025 Academic Year closed yesterday. 

Acceptance notifications and checks will go out in late September.

GOP States Halt Parole-in-Place Program

Republican-led states have filed a lawsuit arguing that the parole in place program by the Biden administration, which protects immigrant spouses of U.S. citizens from deportation and allows them to work, should be halted. The lawsuit, filed in a Texas federal court, claims that the program violates federal law because it was implemented without proper procedures, such as public notice and the opportunity for public comment.
