Calling all undergraduates! Now accepting applications for summer programs

Our research training programs are now accepting applications for two unique research experiences this upcoming summer.


  • The Outreach Core Summer Internship offers high school students and undergraduates an opportunity to work in a community setting. Apply by April 1, 2023!
  • The Research Education Core program offers undergraduates an opportunity to work in UMass Boston and DF/HCC labs. Apply by March 20, 2023!

Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research 2023 - Registration Open

The 11th Annual Symposium on Global Cancer Research will be held virtually on April 4-6, 2023. The theme this year is "Closing the Research-to-Implementation Gap." Scientific sessions and abstracts are being accepted now.

GMaP Region 4 Research Support Awards

Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis to support a range of cancer research activities. The goal of the Research Support Award is to stimulate or support new research with a funding amount of up to $1,000 and all expenses invoiced by June 30, 2023. Fellowship in Cancer Survivorship Research

The Perini Family Survivorship Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute invites members of the DF/HCC and Harvard Medical community to apply for a two-year fellowship.

Research Training Opportunities - Applications Open!

The UMB-DF/HCC Partnership Post-Bacc Program is a 1- to 2-year fellowship that engages individuals who have completed their bachelor's degree within the past two years. Click here for Post-Bacc application details.


The Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) is a year-round, research-intensive, skill-building, mentoring program for undergraduate students interested in the biomedical sciences. Click here for IMSD application details.


The Postdoctoral Fellowship to Promote Racial Diversity is a three-year program sponsored by the Cancer Research Institute to support young scientists who wish to receive training in fundamental immunology or cancer immunology. Click here for the CRI Postdoctoral Fellowship application details.

Creating Welcoming Research Environments

The Research Education Core and DF/HCC CURE program are hosting a workshop on March 7th from 12pm - 1pm focused on mentorship development and shared practice for current, past, and prospective mentors.


Conversations will cover the importance of developing a sense of belonging in early-stage trainees and how to foster a welcoming research environment.

The symposium will be on "Environmental Justice with a Cancer Lens" featuring guest speakers Drs. Judy Ou and Diana Hernández. A panel discussion will follow the guest speakers.

Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control Equity - Request for Applications

The ISCCCE at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has released an RFA to support pilot projects focused on implementation research on health equity in community settings. Grants will be funded up to $75,000 in direct costs for one year and are intended to support the planning of a new clinical, community, or policy implementation science project that addresses cancer prevention and control related topics.


Potential applicants are encouraged to attend an informational webinar on March 9th from 3-4 PM to learn more.
