Meet Adriana |
Adriana, a Family Resource Aide AmeriCorps Member shares her experience working here at The Partnership. "Being raised in Sacramento, I really did not know there were so many resources available to individuals and families in our community. Since coming to The Partnership, I have had enormous support and encouragement that sometimes I might really believe I can fly if I wanted too. I share that same encouragement and support with all the families I can. This experience has been life changing and inspirational to me and all the families I have helped. I've recently facilitated my first Make Parenting A Pleasure workshop series. During that time, I had an opportunity to see the impact the parenting series makes first hand. I have the pleasure of working with some of the most persistent, compassionately empathetic people, who all have the same goal. To enhance the education, health and well being of children, youth, and adults in our community. I am proud to say I am a part of that team/family." |
Happy Fathers Day!
|
Father's Day is a day to make a father feel loved and appreciated for all he does. What better way to make celebrate him than indulge him in activities he loves? Cherish the joys of having a loving father this Father's Day by organizing fun filled activities. Choose activities which both Dad and you enjoy. Don't forget to capture valuable moments as those will be with you for life. Plan a family picnic at dad's favorite place or at a place he is wanting to go. If you are old enough, take charge of the responsibility of organizing the trip and save Dad the headache. Help Dad return to his carefree youth on his special day. Make a kite with dad. Alternatively you may plan out Dad's favorite sport. If he loves to play basketball or any other team game invite his friends and yours and have a friendly game.
Learn a Skill from Dad. All fathers love to pass on skills to their offspring. Learn from him activities in which he is good at or something you wish to learn from him. It could be anything from learning cycling or learning to drive a car or replace a flat tire. Cook with Dad. Cooking with Dad can be an amazingly fun filled activity. Check out Dad's culinary skills. He might not show but he would always have a lesson or two to teach you. Involve Mom also and prepare a lavish family meal. It would be more fun filled than having a meal in an expensive restaurant. Organize a Get-Together. Call your Dad's friends or close family members and gift him with the company of people he is close to.
Prepare Dad's favorite dishes, play music of his choice and organize activities he loves to indulge in.
What ever you do to celebrate your dad, have fun. |
