All Staff Meeting

Energy was high last week at the All Staff Meeting.

It was great to all be in the same room and hear first hand from so many of us about the work we do. And, it was fun to learn more about each other in the ice breakers HR planned.

A very special THANK YOU to our Human Resources team for planning and hosting the day.

Hosting an Event with World Business Chicago

On Tuesday, October 17 The Partnership had a successful day partnering with World Business Chicago, hosting 150 Chicago Public Schools (CPS) students at Custom 3D Printing. The event introduced the students to networking and training opportunities to help them eventually find successful careers as they progress in their educational and professional lives.

The Partnership’s Pamela T. presented on a panel with other workforce professionals sharing programs and opportunities available for youth after graduation. Pam also shared information about the LevelUpAJC.org website, an important new tool residents can use.

Level Up Your Career or Power Up Your Business

Thank you for your support as we continue to make it easy for residents and employers to find their local American Job Centers. Continue to share Level Up on your social media accounts!

We have fliers in English and Spanish available to print out and distribute. Please feel free to send a Project Request Form to request these materials. Thank you!

NEWS WORTH SHARING

Open Enrollment for Partnership medical benefits provided through Cook County

The Partnership has two Open Enrollments for benefits every year. One is in the fall, for the medical benefits provided through Cook County (for the benefits year December 1 - November 30), and one is in the spring for all other benefits provided through ADP, such as Dental, Vision, and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) (for the benefits year June 1 – May 31).

This fall’s Open Enrollment period runs until October 31, and the plan coverage is effective as of December 1, 2023.

If you want to stay with your current plan, you don’t have to do anything. Your coverage will automatically roll over into the next year. If you wish to change your current plan, please follow the instructions in your letter from Cook County.

If you don’t know your employee ID, ask Renata at [email protected] or Main 312.603.0200 | Direct 312.603.0212 for it.

Please notify HR about any changes you make to your health plan so we can adjust your payroll deductions accordingly.

The Partnership is Hiring!

If someone you know may be interested in mission-based work, making a difference every day by connecting job seekers to life-changing careers, please encourage them to apply.

Share A Success Story

Let's lift each other up! Our colleagues, employers, & candidates are "Our Why". We show up everyday because of them. Let's feature the wins and keep encouraging the person who needs the inspiration. Please follow the below instructions on how to send in a success story:

Create a word document to send to the communications department. It should be simple and include:

  • Name of success story person (first and last name).
  • Be sure they have signed a release (comms has them as do all of our agencies).
  • Agency or agencies he/she worked with.
  • The “from - to” such as: she dropped out of school but then became an Opportunity Works intern and now has a full time job with Jones and Jones law firm.
  • Mention that the program is funded with ARPA funds from Cook County.

Potential features can be related to:

Careers in Construction Month

Manufacturing Month

November

National Career Development Month

National Apprenticeship Week, November 13 - 19

SHARE A STORY

A Few More Reminders

Submit a Story to the Pulse: We want to hear from you! Share an event or fun story to The Pulse. We're better together so let's share our wins and exciting news.

Saving Photos: Partnership staff participate in dozens of events year-round so share them with us for future use! Instead of only dropping images in the All Staff Teams chat, you can also upload them to SharePoint here.

Marketing Materials and More:

  • The Partnership's PowerPoint templates can be found here. Please avoid using the anniversary template and logo. You may use the non-anniversary branded logo going forward.
  • Please find the latest media release form here. You can also use the QR code here.
  • The Communications Unit has created a virtual library where Partnership staff can check out comms materials (signage, tablecloths, step and repeats, etc.) so we can continue to keep track of items.

Project Request Form Guidelines

Submitting a request via a Project Request Form is an important requirement when asking The Partnership Communications team for support: www.chicookworks.org/prf

Partnership staff should have received an email with updated guidelines and more information about the submission process—especially related to materials created by an outside source. Thank you all for your collaboration on this work. Feel free to reach out to the communications unit with any questions.

Phones/Messages

Despite being hybrid, all staff are responsible for checking voice mail messages at least twice daily. You are expected to be available and are deemed “on call” during normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You should regularly be checking email and be every bit as responsive, perhaps even more so than usual. See the instructions below:

  1. Call the voicemail number 312-603-4445
  2. Enter your ID (your 10-digit extension)
  3. Enter your PIN (same as the one you use in the office)
