Pasadena Embarks on Second Livable Centers Study

PEDC is excited to announce Pasadena's second awarded Livable Centers Study granted by the Houston-Galveston Area Council. The Healthy Pasadena Livable Centers Study presents an opportunity to study a 600-acre area that's home to the largest density of Pasadena's Senior population and provide recommendations to guide the City on the path to making it a destination for health and wellness in Southeast Harris County. PEDC invites you to make your voice heard - complete the community survey today!

Help Keep Dollars in Pasadena this Holiday Season

Huge blowout holiday sales can be difficult for small, locally owned retailers to match. But supporting small businesses doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing approach. When you buy local, your money does much more for your community than it does when you shop at national chains.

PEDC Kicks Off Wayfinding Project

Signage and wayfinding systems guide people through a physical environment and enhance their understanding and experience of the space. PEDC is working with Tangram Design to bring a new Wayfinding System to the City of Pasadena.

New Gateway Install Along Hwy 225 Complete

The upgrade to the existing gateway sign at Hwy 225 & Richey St is complete and equipped with illumination and landscaping. The upgraded monument features Pasadena's new community-wide brand and will contribute to the beautification of the City.

Vince Bayou Greenway Open House at Strawberry Park

Recently, PEDC hosted an open house at Strawberry Park with Houston Parks Board and City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department for the Vince Bayou Greenway Trail Project. Community members enjoyed a presentation with details on the project and provided input on design elements for the trail.

RECENT LOCAL & INDUSTRY NEWS
Recently, the Pasadena Loves Local Committee held a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the Workplace Event. The event served the purpose of facilitating a discussion among the business community about what DEI initiatives are out there and how they are constantly evolving as more workplaces adopt DEI programs and strategies. PEDC partners with the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce for these periodic events. Contact Erin Webb at the Pasadena Chamber to learn how you can get involved.

Join Chapel Community Center and SBA Houston on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 to hear from a panel of curated Pasadena, TX resource providers, including the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and Pasadena Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), who will discuss the programs/services that they provide to help start or grow your business. Topics will include: free business counseling, access to capital, marketing tools, incentive programs and much more. English and Spanish sessions available.

"Project 11" is a billion-dollar plan that will help Port Houston, the busiest port by tonnage in the nation, better accommodate bigger ships. Recently, KHOU 11 News covered the multi-segment project that includes widening parts of the channel to 700 feet and deepening others to 46 1/2 feet.

UPDATE ON CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

Richey Street - Phase II
Investment: $3.2 million
Coverage: ~ 0.5 mile (Southmore Ave. to South Houston Rd.)
Update: Project Consultant has been selected; Mainlane Industries. The project consists of roadway and pedestrian improvements.
Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2023.
