The Aspen Institute named San Jacinto College as a Finalist with Distinction for the 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, ranking the institution as one of the top community colleges in the nation.

On May 20, the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority announced that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released their FY25 workplan, which includes $33M allocated to the Houston Ship Channel Expansion, known as Project 11, construction and $98M to operations and maintenance to keep the Houston Ship Channel dredged.

Stepan Company announced the start of production at their new Alkoxylation facility in Pasadena, Texas, which began in early April 2025. This milestone marks a significant achievement completed with zero recordable safety injuries.

UPDATE ON CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

Pasadena Boulevard


Investment: $16.1M

Coverage: ~ 1 mi from HWY 225 to Harris Ave

Update: Construction for Pasadena Boulevard that covers the area between HWY 225 and Harris Ave. is underway and slated to be substantially completed by Q3 2025.

PRIMING HISTORIC PASADENA FOR REINVESTMENT

The Historic Shaw Avenue District has it all — murals, small businesses, parks and more. Don't take our word for it, explore for yourself!
