Pasadena Convention Center Expansion & Renovation

The City of Pasadena and PEDC have set out to administer a major overhaul of improvements to the existing Pasadena Convention Center to include an expansion and renovation.

Houston Transforms into the Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands MSA

The U.S. Office of Management & Budget is now referring to the Houston Metropolitan Statistical Area as
"Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands."

Pasadena Blvd Corridor to be Reconstructed

PEDC has set out on a course to transform Pasadena Blvd. Project scope to include replacement of concrete on corridor, and new traffic signals and sidewalks.

PEDC Updates 2018 Strategic Plan

Given both the achievements made thus far and the need for a fresh perspective on its future, PEDC reengaged TIP Strategies in 2023 to create a five-year update to PEDC's original 2018 Strategic Plan.

In October, Baystar (Bayport Polymers LLC) announced a new era in high-performance polyethylene production and enhanced sustainability with the start-up of its new Bay 3 polyethylene unit.

UPDATE ON CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS
Richey Street - Phase ll

Investment: $3.2M
Coverage: ~ 0.5 mi (Southmore Ave to
South Houston Rd)
Update: Planning, design work and engineering for Richey St Phase II that covers the area between Southmore Ave and South Houston Rd has been completed.
Construction is slated to conclude in Q1 2024.
PRIMING HISTORIC PASADENA FOR REINVESTMENT
On October 6, 2023 the J. Morales Civil Engineering team reintroduced the Pasadena Post Office to the public and city officials bestowed Historic Landmark status upon the cornerstone of the Shaw Street Business District. The historic Pasadena Post Office has been a fixture in the City of Pasadena, TX since the 1940s and after falling into disrepair for a few decades, has finally returned to its original luster by J. Morales Civil Engineering as the company's headquarters.
The Historic Shaw Avenue District has it all — murals, small businesses, parks and more. Don't take our word for it, explore for yourself! PEDC invites you to visit the Shaw Avenue District to see the progress made so far in the work to revitalize Pasadena's Historic District. Stay tuned for more projects in the area to come.
