PEDC Welcomes New Board Members

In March, PEDC swore in existing and new board members to its Board of Directors. New board members include, Angela West, Du-West, and Efren Arjona, Houston Police Department.

City's Namesake Corridor to be Reconstructed

PEDC has set out on a course to transform Pasadena Blvd, the City's namesake corridor. Project scope to include replacement of concrete on corridor, and new traffic signals and sidewalks.

Pasadena Convention Center Receives Major Upgrades

PEDC is working on upgrades to the Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena's state-of-the-art tourist and attraction facility, to attract and retain quality events to the venue.

Construction to Begin on Richey Street

Construction is slated to begin on Richey St. in May 2023. PEDC has set out to transform this key economic corridor in the city of Pasadena with an abundance of upgrades.

RECENT LOCAL & INDUSTRY NEWS
Don't miss Pasadena Loves Local's Small Business Resource Fair from 8-10a on Wednesday, June 28 at Community Transformation (CT) Church. The event will be a panel discussion with representatives from local resource organizations with a expo-style networking session to follow featuring local vendors ready to tell you how to do business with them and get on their procurement lists.

A healthy and vibrant local economy depends on the well-being of a community's existing businesses and industry. In April, Kao Corporation broke ground on a new tertiary anime production plant in Pasadena to meet growing demand for sterilizing/cleaning and a wide range of other industrial applications. The $250M plant is located at the former Sunoco site that's sat vacant for over 10 years. It is expected to create 60 new jobs, 300 of those being construction-related.

In May, HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast is opening their new HCA Houston Rehabilitation Southeast business building along the Sam Houston Tollway. As a campus of the Southeast Hospital, it will offer inpatient rehabilitation for individuals who require a higher level of care following an extended illness, stroke, surgery, injury or trauma.

UPDATE ON CURRENT INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS

Richey Street - Phase ll
Investment: $3.2M
Coverage: ~ 0.5 mi (Southmore Ave to South Houston Rd)
Update: Planning, design work and engineering for Phase ll of Richey St that covers the area between Southmore Ave and South Houston Rd
has been completed. Construction is scheduled to begin during Q2 of 2023.
