Homeward Bound’s Monthly Newsletter

April 2026

From the CEO

As we move through the year, I want to share a few upcoming events and updates going on across our HBI community.

On June 23rd HBI’s Annual Employee Appreciation Dinner takes place. This evening is our annual opportunity to recognize the work and commitment of our team and spend time together. Team members with two or more years’ experience are invited to attend.

Our 30th Annual Golf and Gala will take place on August 24th. This remains an important event for our organization. This year, we are introducing a Gala Dinner Only ticket for those who do not golf or cannot attend the full day event. We hope this allows more people to participate. Check out the event info on our website and don’t miss this big 30th year celebration.

We will also be launching a new fundraising effort with a spring

campaign and golf/gala fund a need campaign called “Adventure Club.”

Adventure Club will be part of our Rec Reboot initiative and will support both funding and programming for residents including those things that cost a little more especially for individuals that don’t have their own financial resources.

Adventure Club is designed to involve all residents. It will include day camps, day trips, overnight experiences, and other activities. Planned experiences will also include HBI’s Day at the Zoo and more planned journeys to the HBI garden with residents, staff, and volunteers.

We look forward to sharing more details soon.

Thank you for your continued support for our HBI mission.

Everyday Heroes: Show Up. Grow. Make an Impact.

This week we honored National Superhero Day, by celebrating a different kind of hero. Not the kind in movies but the kind who shows up.

Who gives their time. Who grows alongside others. Who makes a lasting impact in real lives, every single day.

At Homeward, that kind of hero is everywhere, in our volunteers, our staff, our residents, and our community. And the best part?

There’s always a place for you in that story.

Show Up: Start with Garden Day

Every hero starts somewhere.

This year, that moment begins in June with our first Garden Prep Day (date TBD). A hands-on opportunity to step into our community and make an immediate, visible difference.

Together, we’ll:

  • Prepare and plant garden beds
  • Refresh outdoor spaces
  • Create environments that support connection, healing, and joy

This isn’t just about planting plants, vegetables, or flowers; it’s about creating spaces where people feel at home, building a stronger more connected community rooted in purpose.

Click the button below to stay in the loop and be the first to know when the date is announced.

Because sometimes, showing up is the most powerful thing you can do.

Grow: Build a Career with Purpose

For many, showing up is just the beginning.

What starts as curiosity or connection often grows into something more, a desire to build a career that truly matters.

At Homeward, we don’t just offer jobs. We build pathways.

Make a Direct Impact: Services That Change Lives

Behind every role, every volunteer, and every supporter is something bigger: the lasting impact we create together.

Our services are designed to support individuals in living fuller, more connected, and more empowered lives through:

  • Person-centered care
  • Holistic support for well-being
  • Environments built on dignity, independence, and connection.
