Carroll Swim Team reaches out to support homeless mothers
The Carroll Swim team completed a service project by helping out at a Christmas party for homeless mothers served by A Baby’s Breath, whose primary mission is to "help a mother to see her child take his/her first breath. It is a safe place where mothers, fathers, and families can talk freely without being judged and where they can hear the truth from a voice filled with compassion and hope.”

A Baby’s Breath has five centers in the area – Jeffersonville, Collegeville, Wayne, Phoenixville, and Warminster.  They offer free counseling, parenting/prenatal classes, ultrasounds, residential housing and an Independence program to assist in the journey through a crisis pregnancy.  #CarrollCares
Carroll receives $300,000 gift from USLI

USLI, one of America’s leading companies for underwriting insurance for small businesses and a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies, has made a $300,000 gift to Archbishop John Carroll High School.

“This makes $1.7 million generously given by USLI to Carroll since 2013,” said Archbishop John Carroll High School President Francis E. Fox. “These gifts financially support our students with tuition assistance who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend Carroll. We are extremely grateful to USLI for its continued support of our students and the school.”

The donation was presented by USLI’s Suzanne Gennaro, a 2010 graduate of Carroll.  It was made through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, which provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a scholarship organization, an educational Improvement organization and/or a Pre-Kindergarten scholarship organization.
USLI is based in Wayne, Penn.
Christmas Concert a success!
The Carroll Christmas Concert filled the Auditorium with the sounds of the season on Dec. 19. One attendee described the performance of the students as "amazing."

On Carroll's Facebook page, Elaine Jacot  posted, "I went to this concert last night. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I had two kids graduate from Carroll and was so happy to see this Christmas show after being away for several years. This school rocks ... sign your kids up!
On Dec. 17, the Archbishop Carroll Choir performed for WPHT Radio (1210 AM) talkshow host Dom Giordano (second from left) at his “Feast of the Seven Fishes.” Each year at the event, Mr. Giordano hosts many prominent Philadelphians and raises money for charity. The choir, lead by Mr. Jeremy Triplett (left), sang Christmas carols and entertained guests to help celebrate the Christmas season.
Congratulations to Kathleen Carpenter '19, for auditioning and being accepted to the District 12 Band! She was ranked second among 40 clarinets from all over District 12. Wish her luck as she prepares for the District Festival and auditions for Region VI Band. The concert is Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at Owen J.
