|
Enviva Targets Net-Zero Operations by 2030
Providing clean energy solutions to others is not enough. Enviva is now taking steps to dramatically reduce the climate impact of our own operations by undertaking a goal to become net zero in our operations by 2030.

Enviva Joins World Business Council for Sustainable Development
Enviva recently joined nearly 200 forward-thinking companies as one of the newest members of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Enviva signed a memorandum of understanding agreement with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), a leading global marine transport group, to develop and deploy an environmentally friendly bulk carrier. |

Professor Blake Hudson is the Samuel T. Dell Professor of Law and the Co-director of the Environmental & Land Use Law Program. Hudson’s recent research has focused on the intersection of land use law, policy, and planning with natural resource management, with particular emphasis on the role of forest management in combatting climate change and the implications of land development for long-term natural resource management.

Three Rivers Land secured permanent conservation easements on a total of 500 acres – including more than 290 acres of bottomland hardwood forest – which was made possible in part by a grant from the Enviva Forest Conservation Fund (EFCF).

The Virginia Outdoors Foundation (VOF) announced its purchase of a ~430-acre tract of riparian forest that will be held in a permanent conservation easement in Southampton County, Virginia. This purchase, which complements the more than 700-acre purchase announced in December, is made possible in part by a grant from the EFCF.

The Longleaf Alliance, Wildlife Mississippi, the Mississippi Forestry Association, Enviva, and other partners are working together to boost longleaf pine habitats in southern Mississippi and southwestern Alabama by creating new opportunities for public and private landowners in this region.

On March 26, Enviva’s Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer, Jennifer Jenkins, participated in the keynote address for the North American Carbon Program Annual Open Science Meeting joined by other executives and leaders from Business, Government, and Academia. The group discussed the importance of a low-carbon future for mitigating the most damaging effects of climate change and ocean acidification with a focus on practical mechanisms, techniques, and policies that could play a part in the transition to a low-carbon way of life.
