MPERS' Funded Status Continues to Soar

MPERS’ funded status has once again reached an all-time high, reaching 70.6% for Fiscal Year 2024 . This marks an incredible 21.4% increase in the funded status since 2014.

Another Excellent Year in the Books!

It was another strong year for MPERS’ investment portfolio.

Fiscal Year 2024 performance came in at 13.29%, which outperformed the policy benchmark (12.29%), median public fund (11.4%), and most importantly, the actuarial assumption (6.5%). MPERS’ 3-, 5-, and 10-year returns all rank in the top 1% of the peer universe, while the 20-year return ranks in the top 2%.

Board of Trustees Special Election Results

A special election cycle began after the active Patrol board member seat became vacant. Master Sergeant Wallace Ahrens was the only candidate who came forward, therefore, the Board accepted Master Sergeant Ahrens’ nomination and declared him the successful candidate.

Master Sergeant Ahrens’ term begins immediately and ends on June 30, 2026.
