“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

 (Galatians 6:2)

Greetings!

Greetings from Shepherd Society in Bethlehem.

The story of the shepherds did not end two thousand years ago. The shepherds are still here—in the families of Beit Sahour, in their children, churches, elderly, young people, and in those who continue to call this land home.

This week, we are sharing the story of one of these shepherds from Beit Sahour—a real story behind the Shepherds who live here. Let us hold this family in our prayers and learn from their story.

 The Story of Greta Abuaita

Our Ambulance Campaign has already received $52,650 toward our goal of more than $130,000.

We are deeply grateful, but we still have a way to go.

AMAL for Children

At the same time, Shepherd Society continues to serve families in Gaza.  “AMAL for Children”, a psychosocial program, is now in the church and in public schools. We ask you to continue praying for us as we serve communities facing great challenges. A short video on the program.

Creating Opportunities

Please continue to pray for our job creation program, with more than 44 job opportunities currently being created, and another 28 opportunities coming for newly graduated young people. Pray for everyone involved in these projects, that the Lord will give them wisdom, strength, and guidance as they serve and support families in our community.

In Our Prayers

As we remember October 7 and all that has followed, we continue to pray for peace, healing, justice, and an end to violence. We remember in prayer all those who are mourning the loss of loved ones, those who continue to suffer, and families carrying deep pain, especially in Gaza.

We invite you to watch this 12-minute film and discover how the proposed settlement at Shepherds’ Field could affect the Christian community of Beit Sahour and this sacred place.

From the land of the shepherds, thank you for remembering the people behind the holy places.
