The Pepper Pike Post

Mayor's message:

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As summer begins to wind down, we still have some opportunities to come together and enjoy our wonderful community!

Looking ahead to fall, save the date for our annual Pepper Pike Fall Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 4th. This event has grown into one of our favorite community traditions, with an afternoon full of activities for the entire family. Enjoy face painting, pumpkin decorating, a petting zoo, and more, followed by hayrides, a bonfire, live music, and a delicious community dinner.

Festival: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Free and open to the community

Dinner: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Tickets required

This year we have a new vendor, Sirna's, and they will be providing an all-you-can-eat buffet! Tickets will be available for purchase starting Monday, September 7th at 10 am, so please watch for an upcoming email with pricing and additional details on how to purchase your tickets.

Before the Harvest Festival begins, I also invite you to join me again for Bike with the Mayor on Sunday, October 4th at 1:00 PM. We will meet in the Pepper Pike City Hall parking lot and enjoy a fun community ride along our beautiful Gates Mills Boulevard trails. Riders of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Don’t forget your helmet!

Construction & Roadway Updates

With the many road construction projects and trail improvements taking place throughout the City, I would also like to share a few updates on the progress being made in our community.

Gates Mills Linear Park – Phase 2

Phase 2 of the Gates Mills Linear Park is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2027. The trail portion has been completed, and landscaping and retaining wall construction will soon begin. We are excited to continue seeing this project take shape and look forward to the finished improvements.

Brainard Road Walkway

Work has officially begun on the new walkway along Brainard Road extending to Fairmount Boulevard. Motorists should expect delays in this area while construction is underway and are encouraged to drive cautiously and remain mindful of workers and changing traffic conditions. This project is anticipated to be completed by Winter 2026.

Cedar Road Repairs

I know Cedar Road continues to be a topic of conversation and an area of concern for many residents. Roadway point repairs are scheduled to begin in early September 2027. This work will consist of localized pavement restoration that goes beyond the City's standard pothole repairs and will address targeted areas of the roadway requiring more substantial attention.

We appreciate everyone's patience as these important infrastructure improvements continue throughout Pepper Pike. While construction can create temporary inconveniences, these projects are important investments in the safety, accessibility, and long-term quality of our community.

For additional information and the latest project updates, please visit the Construction Updates & Road Closures page under the Government tab on the City website.

A Friendly Reminder for Pet Owners

Lastly, as a friendly reminder, while enjoying the trails and parks throughout our City, please be mindful of others and clean up after your pets. Dog waste stations are conveniently located throughout our trail system for your use.

Keeping our parks, trails, and shared spaces clean is a community effort, and we appreciate everyone doing their part to keep Pepper Pike beautiful and enjoyable for all!

September Branch Chipping

Branch pickup begins the first full week of the chipping month and correlates with your rubbish pickup schedule. For example, if you are a Monday rubbish route, your brush will be picked up for chipping the first full week of the chipping month; Tuesday, the week after, and so forth.

Branches need to be placed curbside the weekend prior to your scheduled pickup week. Please do not place branches out any earlier. If you place branches out after 7:00 a.m. the Monday of your chipping week, they will not be picked up. If you miss your date for pickup, do not place branches out for collection until the next pickup month. Amounts and limits are at the sole discretion of the Service Department.
