Kathy Merlock Jackson's chapter, "A Remarkable Mother: Jimmy Carter's Tribute to Miss Lillian," in The Literary Legacy of Jimmy Carter: Essays on the President's Books, explores the profound influence that Lillian Carter had on her son, shaping his progressive views on women's issues, humanitarian causes, civil rights, peace and social justice, reading and learning, and continued relevance in old age. Merlock Jackson also wrote the lead back cover endorsement for the book "Something Wicked: Witchcraft in Movies, Television, and Popular Culture," edited by Douglas Brode and Leah Deyneka.

President Scott D. Miller serves as executive editor for the President to President thought leadership series. The fifth and sixth chapters of the 2024–2025 series are now available online. In “Breathing with Double Lungs: A Vision for Thriving Higher Education,” L. Gregory Jones, Ph.D., explores the transformative impact of combining traditional practices with innovative new approaches to reimagine the role of today’s universities. In “Augsburg Applies to You: How Direct Admissions Transformed Our Enrollment Work,” Augsburg University President Paul C. Pribbenow, Ph.D., provides insight into how the university leaned into its urban location, diverse student body, and historic values to embrace a student-centric admissions strategy that transformed the enrollment process and made it possible to welcome a record number of first-generation undergraduates.
In his annual “Letter to Santa,” featured in the Virginian-Pilot, President Miller shares his wish list of societal needs, including support for education, fostering student curiosity, addressing climate change, and expediting transportation projects like the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel expansion. Special Guest of Chris Holliday and Alex Sergeant's (King's College London) Fantasy Animation podcast Terry Lindvall discussed the "Fantasies of C. S. Lewis as Animated Discourse." In conjunction with Old Donation Middle School 7th and 8th grade English teachers Cary and Caroline Joseph, Lindvall published "The Joy of Narnia: Teaching Middle School Students to Laugh," a book on practical research in creating a culture of playful pedagogy.

Benjamin Dobrin was interviewed by Nancy Grace for her "Crime Stories" television show about the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. He was also interviewed for the same show and podcast for his expertise concerning the Ryan Borgwardt case in Wisconsin.
Drian Glyde has initiated a one-year pilot program, available to all VWU students, with the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI), which will result in a verifiable micro-credential that students can share on LinkedIn.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Students in Lisa Lyon Payne's MC 328 Public Relations class created a strategic communication campaign for the Hampton Roads chapter of Girls On the Run (GOTR). The campaign sought to recruit 100 volunteers for the organization's 5K race at the Mariner's Museum. Students pitched their campaigns to GOTR representatives on the final day of class and volunteered at the race.
