Victor Townsend and Kevin Kittredge along with undergraduate student Keane Dye published "Morphological Studies on Polymer Electrolyte Membranes Used in Fuel Cells. The Effects of Environmental Conditions on Structural Changes as Determined by Transmission FTIR Spectroscopy" in the American Journal of Polymer Science.
Maury Howard and Kevin Kittredge along with undergraduate student Correntin Villot published "Comparison of Various Feedstocks for the Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of Biodiesel" in the American Journal of Organic Chemistry.

Sara Sewell
presented a paper entitled "A Season of Violence: Street Politics and Political Culture during the July 1932 Reichstag Election" at the Convention of the International Association for Comparative Fascist Studies in Uppsala, Sweden.
Kathy Stolley co-organized and co-presented (with Michèle Companion, University of Colorado - Colorado Springs) a workshop on "Site Mapping Methodology for Practitioners, Academics, and Students" that incorporated work initially supported by an INTEL grant, and also co-organized and co-presented a "Publishing Your Book" panel at the Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology annual conference in Portland, Oregon.

Students in Sally Shedd's Theatre 100 class scripted, filmed and screened an original short film at the Proteus Festival at Zeiders American Dream Theatre. Proteus Festival is a multi-day celebration of creative experiences. The Proteus Festival presented over forty performances in six days and fostered the creation of a dozen new works.
The "Animals and Criminal Justice" class, taught by Kathy Stolley, toured the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center to learn more about animal control units and processes, and animal sheltering and welfare.
