Carlton Ward Jr  is a National Geographic Explorer and photographer focused on inspiring the protection of land and water, especially in his home state of Florida. He founded the Florida Wildlife Corridor project in 2010 and has since trekked 2,000 miles during two expeditions supported by the National Geographic Society—all of this to advocate for the corridor’s protection. In 2015, he launched the Path of the Panther project, an impact campaign with National Geographic and partners. This helped inspire the Florida Wildlife Corridor Act of 2021 and nearly $2 billion in new commitments for land protection. His new book Path of the Panther was published by National Geographic Books in May 2023, and a documentary film by the same title is now streaming on Disney+. In this talk, Carlton will discuss the many journeys of his career and what it took to become a leader in conservation photography.

The talk will be followed with a Question-and-Answer session moderated by The Photo Society Communications Director Alex Snyder. One lucky audience member will also win a Sony ZV-1 camera!
