Have You Taken the Member Survey?

There’s still time to make your voice heard! Central Pines Regional Council and Triangle West TPO are inviting members, partners, and community leaders (aka, YOU!) to take our Annual Member Survey — open now through next Monday, September 9. This survey is your opportunity to share feedback on the work we’ve done over the past year and to help guide how we can better serve your community in the year ahead.

Your input directly shapes the programs, services, and support we provide to local governments and regional partners. Whether it’s technical assistance, events, communications, or new opportunities you’d like to see, your perspective matters. Plus, we’re tracking participation with a weekly leaderboard to highlight which jurisdictions are leading the way — so don’t miss the chance to see your community rise to the top!

September is National Senior Center Month!

National Senior Center Month, celebrated each September, is an opportunity to showcase your center and the valuable programs, activities, and services you provide. It’s also the perfect time to promote a positive image of aging, highlight how your center improves the lives of local older adults, and strengthen your visibility among potential new participants, community partners, and decision-makers.

Jenny Halsey Named as CPRC Deputy Executive Director

Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) Executive Director Lee Worsley has appointed Jenny Halsey as Deputy Executive Director, effective July 1, 2025. In this role, Halsey will provide business continuity for the organization and lead oversight of CPRC’s Mobility & Transportation and Aging focus areas. She will also serve as liaison for the Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization (TPO).

“I am pleased to appoint Jenny to the role of Deputy Executive Director, where she will continue delivering outstanding leadership within Central Pines Regional Council,” said Executive Director Lee Worsley. “During her nine years with our organization, Jenny has grown into her current role as Assistant Executive Director, proving herself as mission-driven and a true public service professional, most notably providing exceptional leadership to our internal operations. She is widely respected and well-positioned to ensure continued outstanding service to our fifty local government members.”

The Future of Affordable Housing: What's at Stake for the Central Pines Region

For decades, the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) has been the nation's largest tool for creating and preserving affordable rental housing. In the Central Pines region alone, more than 17,000 households rely on LIHTC-supported units.

But many of these affordability agreements will expire over the next decade - raising urgent questions about displacement, housing supply, and how local governments can respond.

Central Pines Regional Council has release a new blog post exploring what these expirations mean for our region and how we can prepare together.
