Remembering John Brantley III: A Regional Visionary

We remember and honor John Calvin Brantley III, a pioneering leader whose decades of service left a lasting impact on our region. As RDU Airport’s director for nearly 30 years, John helped shape critical infrastructure that fueled growth across the Triangle. His work included major runway and terminal expansions that positioned RDU as a key player in regional development.

Beyond aviation, John was a mentor, educator, and civic leader. He taught at NC State University for over 30 years and supported numerous community organizations. His legacy of service, innovation, and generosity will be remembered for generations.

This is a dashboard showing population growth projection in the Central Pines Region. Within this visualization, individual counties can be selected to see what the population is in 2025 versus 2060.

Give Feedback on Stormwater Education Needs

Stormwater - the rain that runs off streets, parking lots, and yards - can carry pollution into our local waterways. The Clean Water Education Partnership (CWEP) wants to hear from you about stormwater issues in your community.

Please take a few minutes to complete our short survey. Your input will help guide efforts to protect water quality and improve stormwater management. To learn more about how stormwater affects our environment and what you can do to help, visit nc-cleanwater.com.
