CPRC's Hope Tally Receives Outstanding Finance Officer Award!

Central Pines Regional Council is proud to announce that Chief Finance Officer Hope Tally has received the Outstanding Finance Officer Award from the North Carolina Local Government Finance Officers Association. The award recognizes exceptional leadership, ethical stewardship, and excellence in local government finance across North Carolina. Since joining Central Pines just over three years ago, Hope has led a comprehensive modernization of the organization’s finance operations, overseeing tens of millions of dollars annually — including approximately $20 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds — while strengthening transparency, compliance, and internal controls.

Under her leadership, CPRC implemented a new enterprise financial system, replaced manual processes with automated tracking and reconciliation tools, improved reporting accuracy, enhanced investment earnings, and built a highly skilled finance team that is now widely regarded as one of the organization’s greatest assets. As Executive Director Lee Worsley shared, “Hope is a consummate professional with unmatched finance knowledge and skills. But she is also compassionate and empathetic, with a unique ability to help people get what they need while maintaining financial compliance and excellence.” Hope’s recognition reflects not only her technical expertise, but her lasting impact on regional collaboration and the responsible stewardship of public funds. Congratulations Hope! Well deserved!

Celebrating Senior Nutrition Programs

Nutrition is a vital component of our health and well-being, especially as we age. But in communities throughout the U.S., older adults sometimes lack access to the high-quality, nutritious food they need to remain healthy and independent.

Funded by the Older Americans Act, the national Senior Nutrition Program has provided nutrition services to older Americans since 1972. The Administration for Community Living (ACL), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides grants to states to enable a network of local programs that deliver nutrition services to older adults. These programs promote healthy eating, foster meaningful social connections, and support overall health. They also act as a gateway to other home and community-based services like falls prevention programs, chronic disease management resources, and more.

This March, Central Pines Area Agency on Aging is proud to celebrate the anniversary of the national Senior Nutrition Program with others across the country.
