Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday (and the start of the season of Lent) is Wednesday, February 17. Our Lenten theme will be "Again and Again." In Lent, we’re reminded that, again and again, suffering and brokenness find us. We doubt again, we lament again, we mess up again. And again and again, we begin again! You will receive in the mail before Ash Wednesday a Lenten Care Package to help navigate faith formation and worship at-home during this sacred season.
The Psalms: Yesterday & Today
Tuesdays at 7pm

Dr. Bill Mankin is leading this exciting faith formation group in a study of the Hebrew Psalms, their form, types, use in ancient Judea, and use in public and private worship today. They're studying in detail one or two psalms of several types and then writing a contemporary psalm of the same type.

You will be asked to compose a psalm of your own each week, in the style of the psalms studied in the current session. The psalm may address contemporary concerns or historical concerns such as those of the original psalmists. We will collect all the “home grown” psalms into a booklet for each of the participants.

Meetings will be via zoom on Tuesdays at 7pm

To register or for more information, email Bill Mankin at:

Transformational Travel -
Having Reigned, We Shall Find Rest

In this final installment in our series on transformational travel, we will examine the art of pilgrimage. When we think about how much any journey costs, whether to another town in our state or a trip abroad, shouldn't we return more than the person we were when we left? In other words, we should look at travel as an investment in ourselves, rather than an escape from our current circumstances. The outer journey should also be an inner journey.

In this series, we examine the art of travel. Our guide is an ancient saying, 2000 years old: “Whoever seeks must seek until they find. When they find, they will be troubled; and being troubled they will marvel, and will reign over the All. [Having reigned, they will find rest]." As always, we will also look for guidance from the works of great artists. Artists after all, are by nature seekers.

See you Sunday! And please share this event with kindred spirits.

From the back cover: "A masterful work, Cynthia Bourgeault invites us to follow Jesus' path of self-emptying love, and she describes wisdom practices that we Christians can use every day to transform our own minds so that we too can see with the eyes of Christ." Jim Marion
