Outdoor worship services will begin this Sunday, March 28, and continue when weather permits. All services are subject to protocols developed by our Covid Team for the health and safety of our congregation. These include:

1.     Masks are required for all persons age 3 years and up, but speakers may remove their masks while speaking. We ask you to observe social distancing. Please do not attend if you are experiencing any Covid-related symptoms.

2.     The church office will offer an online reservation form through the NDBC website for folks to sign up and a hard copy signup sheet will be available for attendees who did not make an advance reservation. This is to facilitate contract tracing, should it be needed.

3.     Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn/folding/camp chairs, but the church will provide several hard-backed chairs if needed.

4.     We will make a limited supply of face masks and plenty of hand sanitizer available.

5.     Indoor restrooms will be available, accessible to one family unit at a time.

6.     Offering plates will not be passed, but an offering plate will be placed on a table to collect contributions from attendees as they leave the service.

7.     Copies of the Orders of Worship will be available to attendees as well as copies of congregational hymns. Attendees can sing along through their masks.

In the event of a rain forecast or if there has been heavy rain overnight, the outdoor service will be cancelled. However, the worship service will still be live-streamed form the sanctuary. Rev. Daniel Headrick will notify congregants by 8 a.m. Sunday morning if outdoor services are cancelled. For now, only worship leaders will attend services indoors.

We hope this step is the first in a phased re-opening of our facilities for worship and other church activities. At its meeting next month, the Council will carefully consider the available data in assessing the progress and timing of a return to indoor worship and use of our facilities.

We would love to see each one of you, but if you are experiencing ANY Covid symptoms, please remain at home.

Remember, a reservation is required for the Palm Sunday service. Sign up here.

Somebunny's eggcited to welcome your family back to the NDBC Annual Easter Egg Hunt! We can't wait to see you and your family on Sunday, April 4, following outdoor worship, when we will convene on the church ball field. BYOB--bring your own basket as well as drinks, hand sanitizer, and masks, please.

For the safety of all, please plan to follow these guidelines while participating in this year's Egg Hunt:

All participants must mask while hunting (with the exception of children under 3 years old). Hands of all hunters will be sanitized immediately prior to the Egg Hunt.

If you are donating eggs for the hunt please keep in mind:

Eggs must be stuffed with PEANUT FREE, store-bought, individually-wrapped, candy or non-candy treats. Hands must be sanitized prior to stuffing eggs. Egg Hunt donations can be dropped off at the church office, M-F, 9 to 4 or at the NDBC Sanctuary on Sundays, 10 am to noon.

“Hallelujah” on Easter Sunday

Members of the Sanctuary Choir will present “Hallelujah” from Messiah in virtual format at the end of the Easter Sunday service on April 4. Members of the choir have been rehearsing on Zoom over the last several weeks. The singers have recorded their parts separately and the individual videos will be combined into a composite video that will be used as the Closing Voluntary on Easter Sunday.

Thanks to all who were able to join us last evening for the second listening session in our pastor-search process. We dove deeper into NDBC’s present, through a discussion of our presentation, Taking a Look in the Mirror. This focuses on where we are numerically, financially and organizationally and takes a look out the window at the community in which we are located.

If you were unable to join us last evening, please attend our second opportunity on Saturday:

Our church has been a Habitat for Humanity Atlanta sponsor for almost 30 years as both financial contributors and volunteer constructors. Many of us have actually swung a hammer, painted, and performed many other construction tasks, both in Metro Atlanta, as well as in Americus, Georgia, where the Habitat for Humanity concept was born.

For the past 12 months, Habitat has not permitted volunteer-participation builds, due to the pandemic. A small number of Habitat staff-built homes have been started, but the primary focus of Habitat this past year has been on assisting current Habitat homeowners in maintaining mortgage payments and avoiding defaults. NDBC has continued to support the overall mission of Habitat financially this year, supporting their current focus. We look forward to the day when we can resume volunteer participation. Thank you for your continued support of this vital local mission through your contributions to our church!

This Sunday the Art & Soul class will return to a study of the weekly lectionary scriptures. We will be using the Feasting on the Word curriculum as our guide. This Sunday's discussion will be led by Hartwell Dew.

Please join us, and note that from this Sunday on, we will meet at 9:00 am. We will conclude by 10:15 to give those wishing to attend the outdoor service time to get to the church.
