Dear Valued Customer,

At the Service Authority, we know water is a precious resource and we take pride in our mission to provide clean, reliable drinking water to our customers and return treated wastewater to the environment.

As you will see in our 2022 Water Quality Report, we have once again met all federal and state water quality requirements for calendar year

2021, the most recent regulatory period. This high standard is in keeping with our mission to be a nationally acclaimed leader in providing clean water and excellent customer service. The report can be found

at http://bit.ly/2kLY9Q.

Also, for the 13th consecutive year, the Service Authority received the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Platinum Peak Performance Award. This recognizes our H.L. Mooney Advanced Water Reclamation Facility’s 100 percent compliance with federal and state wastewater treatment standards. The award places us in the top tier of wastewater treatment plants nationwide for our compliance record.

We are honored again to receive this distinction, which reflects the hard work of our employees to serve you and our community.

Sincerely,

Calvin D. Farr, Jr.

General Manager/CEO

Our customers

can fill a 20-ounce,

reusable bottle

every day for

one year for less

than 25 cents.

Approximately 25% of bottled water is actually tap water, sold for as much as 2,000 times the

price of tap water.

Up to three liters

of water are required to produce one liter

of bottled water.

Producing bottled water requires 1,100

to 2,000 times more energy than producing tap water.

About 80% of single-use water bottles end up in landfills or are

burned, amounting to about 2.8 million tons of plastic per year.

Water utilities are required to publish an annual water quality report for customers. Bottled water companies

are not.

Who do I call if I need to locate

my water or sewer lines?

The Service Authority will locate lines and connections from the water or sewer main through the water meter box. Locating lines and connections on private property is the responsibility of the property owner.

Remember to call Miss Utility of Virginia at 811 for all excavation work or visit www.va811.com before you dig. This includes digging for major excavation and smaller holes for gardening or other landscaping projects.

Travis Maxwell, son of Debbie Maxwell, who is our Deputy Director of the Project Management Office, became a social media star after we featured him on Facebook and Twitter. His science fair project, featuring one of our H2Go Kids activities, was our most popular post on Facebook in June. You can get in on the action by following our social media accounts!

Did you know the Service Authority has over 2,400 miles of pipe running underground in our system? That’s how far it is from Prince William County to Las Vegas. These pipes carry drinking water and wastewater to and from local homes, schools and businesses.
