Come Enjoy
a Private Tour of the
Botanical Gardens
of the Piedmont
Friday September 20, at 1PM.
The invasive Warriors sponsored a talk last week by Jill Trishman-Marks, Executive Director of the Botanical Gardens of the Piedmont. She gave us an overview of the design plans for the Gardens, which sit on land that was formerly a leaf dump and mulch pile for the city of Charlottesville. The Garden, born from the passion of a volunteer planning and work group, will include many garden rooms, like a rain garden, a discovery children’s garden, and a wildflower meadow, as well as sustainable visitor buildings.
Jill has offered to give Glenmore residents a private tour of the Gardens!
We will see what has been completed thus far, including clean up and removal of Kudzu and other invasive species in one portion of the garden, to create a beautiful space for native trees, shrubs and flowers to flourish.
Join us in learning more about their exciting efforts!
RSVP to Liza at invasivewarrior@glenmore-community.org.
