Pensacola State College receives $2.49M grant

to help train construction trade craftsmen

Pensacola State College has been awarded nearly $2.5 million in Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds to bolster construction trades employment in Hurricane Sally-impacted communities.

PSC, George Stone Technical College, CareerSource Escarosa and Habitat for Humanity will collaborate to train low- to moderate-income residents in the carpentry, electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), masonry, plumbing and welding trades.

a 2023 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar

Pensacola State College student Yana Ramos was selected as a 2023 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar. Ramos, a 28-year-old Bulgaria native, is one of 213 Phi Theta Kappa members selected for the award. She will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

College's eSports Team needs new gamers

The Pensacola State College eSports Team is looking for gamers who have the forte for Fortnite, a calling for Call of Duty, or the athletic prowess for Madden NFL 22. “We are looking for more players to round out the 2023-2024 roster and are now accepting applications,” said Jeremy Sommers, the College’s eSports head coach.
