PSC International Festival scheduled for April 15

Filipino pancit, African drummers, Polynesian Hula Dancing, Irish bagpipe tunes and a Japanese bonsai exhibit will be among the many offerings at the 2023 Pensacola State College International Festival. Set for 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, the festival will transform the College’s Pensacola campus into a bazaar of global foods, entertainment, and arts and crafts

Benjamin Rollings was a talented and accomplished piano student, earning scholarships and graduation distinctions throughout his musical studies, which began at age 6. As a teacher, Rollings is just as accomplished.

PSC Research Analyst Dr. Albaraa Basfar named Distinguished Ph.D. Student in Ohio University’s Education Studies Program

Dr. Albaraa Basfar will travel back to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, this May, where he will receive his doctorate and be recognized as the Distinguished Ph.D. Student in the university’s Education Studies program. “I’m very honored,’’ said Basfar, Pensacola State College Research Analyst in the Office of Institutional Research. “It was a lot of work.” Basfar joined the College in November.

New York poet Edmund Berrigan shares stories, experiences during PSC visit

Edmund Berrigan was born with poetry in his blood. His father, Ted Berrigan, was a well-known and respected “late-Beat” poet and writer. According to the Chicago-based Poetry Foundation, his mother, Alice Notley, has become “one of America’s greatest living poets.” Notley spoke at Pensacola State College in 2019 as part of the Lyceum Series.
