2026 PizzaPalooza Results

Burbank's Pizza fans Have Spoken

Pizza lovers packed the house for the 2026 Burbank Park District PizzaPalooza, sampling their way through 15 of the area’s best pizza places before casting their votes for their favorites.

And if 2025 champion Little Frank’s thought it was going to cruise to another easy victory, this year’s competition had other plans.

In fact, PizzaPalooza ended with the kind of result every good competition hopes for: A TIE for Best Tasting Pizza.

Best Tasting Pizza

1st TIE: Little Frank’s Pepperoni

&

John Gino’s Stuffed Supreme

3rd Nonna’s Good Life Pizza

Little Frank’s, located on 79th Street in Burbank, successfully defended its reputation as a local favorite with its classic pepperoni pizza. And for anyone looking to make a night of it, Little Frank’s also has an adjoining bar where a crisp, cold beer pairs pretty perfectly with one of their hot pizzas.

But John Gino’s of Justice came ready to compete. Their deep-dish beef entry (technically the Stuffed Supreme when ordering), earned enough votes to finish in a dead heat with the reigning champion.

Do I smell a PizzaPalooza run-off?

Nonna’s Good Life Pizza of Oak Lawn rounded out the top three, but as the evening unfolded, it became clear that Nonna’s was going to be a force in just about every category.

A special mention also goes to Grassano’s, located near the Burbank/Oak Lawn border. Under new ownership, Grassano’s picked up an impressive number of Best Tasting votes spread between its sausage and cheese pizzas and is definitely one to watch.

The Unofficial “People’s Champion”: Nonna’s Good Life Pizza

We didn’t actually have an award for Most Overall Votes at PizzaPalooza, but when all of the scorecards were tallied, Nonna’s Good Life Pizza received the highest total number of votes across all categories.

So while it may not be an official PizzaPalooza category (yet!), we couldn’t let that performance go unrecognized.

2026 PizzaPalooza People’s Champion: Nonna’s Good Life Pizza of Oak Lawn.

Best Specialty Pizza

1st X’s & O’s – Baked Potato Pizza

2nd Nonna’s

3rd Little Frank’s

Here’s a tip from PizzaPalooza: the winning Baked Potato Pizza from X’s & O’s in Bridgeview is available on their “secret” menu and our tasters would tell you that it’s worth asking.

Best Dessert Pizza

1st Nonna’s – Nutella, Strawberry & Banana Pizza

2nd Clancy’s – S’mores Pizza

Clancy’s s’mores pizza featured a graham cracker crust and was anything but an afterthought. It was an elevated dessert that honestly wouldn’t have felt out of place on the dessert menu of a fine-dining restaurant.

But Nonna’s Nutella pizza topped with fresh strawberries and bananas ultimately took the crown.

Best Kids’ Pizza

1st Clancy’s

2nd Little Frank’s

3rd Nonna’s

Most Unique Pizza

1st Nonna’s – Taco Pizza

2nd Beggars Pizza – Cheeseburger Pizza

3rd Clancy’s

Nonna’s Taco Pizza was an experience all its own, complete with individual sour creams and jalapeños so tasters could dress their slices exactly how they wanted them. Beggars Pizza of Oak Lawn followed closely with its Cheeseburger Pizza.

The Cheese Challenge

This year we added a little extra competition with our first PizzaPalooza Cheese Challenge: a head-to-head blind taste test inspired by the classic “Pepsi Challenge.”

Little Frank’s vs. Vito & Nick’s.

Little Frank’s was the clear winner, with tasters responding to its cheesy, crowd-pleasing slice.

Vito & Nick’s offered something very different, though, with its signature cracker-thin crust and delicate layer of cheese. It was a reminder that sometimes a pizza is best experienced exactly where it was meant to be served: fresh from the oven, at the restaurant! Check them out and give them a try.

Could You “Guess the Pizza?”

For “Guess the Pizza,” guests sampled a New York-style thin-crust pepperoni pizza and tried to identify where it came from.

The answer: Papa Johns!

Only about 10% of our tasters guessed correctly.

Even better, a few guests who had no idea what they were eating remarked that it was actually one of their favorite pizzas of the entire evening. The mystery pizza wasn't eligible for regular PizzaPalooza awards, but it certainly made a few people reconsider what they thought they knew about Papa Johns.

Papa Johns is also offering Burbank Park District patrons a discount: use code BURBANK30 at checkout. If it has been a while since you’ve given their pizza a try, our blind taste test suggests it may be time for another slice.

Little Frank’s may still have a claim to the PizzaPalooza throne, but after this year’s tie with John Gino’s and Nonna’s runaway performance across the scorecards, 2027 is already shaping up to be one delicious rematch.

From Burbank and Oak Lawn to Bridgeview and Justice, the competition showed just how many great pizza options we have right here in our own backyard.

Congratulations to all of our winners, and a huge thank-you to every participating restaurant and every taster who came hungry, tried something new and cast a vote.
