Steward's Ship:

Chart a Course for Learning & Adventure

Join us TODAY at Pontchartrain Conservancy from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for Storm Aware, an event that lets you experience LCM’s newest exhibit, Steward’s Ship! This hands-on exhibit, made possible with generous support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and built by Downtown FabWorks, shows the importance of wetlands in our coastal ecosystem for storm protection and wildlife habitat. Learn all the ways that humans and animals have adapted to survive and thrive in the wetlands.

Artist in Residence: Goodbye & Hello

Thanks to Hillary Bohm for a successful and inspiring Spring 2024 Artist in Residence season. Hillary led our museum guests through March and April by exploring nature observation, learning how to craft a story and bring it to life through ZINES. We loved adding to a new Little Zine Library, which you can check out in our Studio in the Park, and we look forward to the completion of the GIANT Nature Journal as a culminating collaborative project! If you want to follow Hillary and her creativity you can find her on Instagram @collageary).

A warm welcome to LCM Artist in Residence, Rebecca Crenshaw, who's ready to foster creativity and self-awareness through an exploration of improvisation, movement, and collective voice. In the world of improvisation, there is no right or wrong - just play! Rebecca’s residency invites everyone to play with recording found sounds, their own voices, and improvised instruments in addition to exploring the connection of music and movement.

Find her on Facebook @rebeccacrenshawmusic or follow her on Instagram @rebecca.crenshaw.music
