Striving for Deeper Holiness

Pastor’s Weekly Spiritual Message

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

"My prayer is that in 2024, we'll have the generosity of the Apostles not only to respond to Jesus's call to follow him, but also the generosity of looking around us and saying, who else needs peace in life?"

Weekend Happenings

We invite you to join us this weekend for the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time!

On Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m., our Liturgical Ministers are invited to a special morning of formation entitled, “Signs, Symbols and Eucharist: The Language that Deepens our Encounter with Christ.” Details are below in Growing as a Believer, and you can register here!

Children's Liturgy of the Word will be offered this Sunday at our 9:30 a.m. Masses for children ages 4-7. The children will be dismissed from Mass before we begin the Liturgy of the Word and will return at the Offering. Our Jubilate Children's Choir will share the beauty of their collective voices at the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass (in the church) this Sunday. Our young singers in grades 3-8 will rehearse at 8:45 a.m. and then lead us in song at Mass. We also will have our 5th graders from Saint Clement School hosting the 9:30 a.m. Family Mass and serving in different roles.

Our Religious Education classes will meet at 10:40 a.m.

All are invited to join us on Sunday following the 11:15 a.m. Mass for a welcome reception for Fr. Brett Williams! Fr. Brett began earlier this week in his new role as our

second associate pastor and Director of Worship and Prayer Ministry. Please join us in welcoming him!

Our God Squad (Youth Group) members will meet Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

Our Young Adult Community is offering their monthly Wine & Cheese social on Sunday after the 7:00 p.m. Mass. All young adults in their 20s and 30s are invited to enjoy some light snacks and refreshments, meet YAC members and learn about upcoming YAC events.

This weekend's Staff Reflection is written by Lori Howard, Associate Director of Liturgy, where she shares, "Committing to prayer and recognizing the daily blessings in my life is helping me focus on the call from Jesus. How can you respond to the call and embrace the Kingdom of God in your own life?"

For this weekend's presider schedule, Mass intentions, and prayer lists, please see our Worship & Sacraments section below.

We can't wait to see you this weekend!

This year our theme is “Waiting for Joy”. We gather on Tuesday evenings for socializing, prayer, a powerful scriptural based talk and time to unpack and discuss in small groups. We can’t wait to walk alongside you this Lent!

Sing to the Lord a New Song

Session 3: The opposite of misery is bravery

Wednesday, January 24 at 6:30 p.m.

Led by Dr. Lisa Fortini-Campbell, we continue our 4-week series designed for those looking to be reinvigorated for Christ in 2024! (To watch Session 2, "Fingerspitzengefühl!" click here!)

Join us this Wednesday, January 24th for our third session, exploring the topic "The opposite of misery is bravery." It can be hard to live a faithful Christian life, swimming in a culture pushing hard in the opposite direction. No wonder we can feel lonely, discouraged and unhappy sometimes. Understandably, we’re tempted to relax in the current, finding happiness the way the secular culture tells us to. But God calls out to us—actually the same way Italians shout when they want to encourage a person trying to perform a difficult feat, “Coraggio! Coraggio!” “Courage! Courage!” But what does “Coraggio” look like in an ordinary Christian’s life?

Unleashing Spiritual Power: A Lenten Guide to Deepening Prayer Life

Tuesdays, Feb. 20, 27, Mar. 5, 12, 7 - 8 p.m., Chapel

Embark on a Lenten journey of prayer with this four-week course! Discover the profound significance of prayer as an encounter with God, which can ignite our faith, strengthen our purpose, and restore us in hope. We will reflect on the potential of prayer in all its forms--personal prayer, prayer with Scripture, and communal prayer, among others--to provide healing, forgiveness, strength, and spiritual connection. Don't miss this extraordinary opportunity to tap into the critical importance of prayer. It is through this encounter with God that we truly flourish as God's sons and daughters. Join our course and unleash your spiritual power this Lent! See registration form for each session’s focus.

Partnership with Catholic Charities to reopen the Madonna House for asylum-seeking women + children

Thank you, Saint Clement family, for your generous support of the Madonna House partnership so far! As we near the welcome of families to the Madonna House, we are excited to circulate this meal train that will help provide weeknight dinners to the women and children staying at the House. Hearing Loop technology available in the west transept of our church!

The west transept of our church now has a new technology installed to improve hearing accessibility to our parishioners and guests -- a high quality, state-of-the-art hearing loop system! This system can help you hear better whether you have a hearing aid, cochlear implant or just sometimes struggle to catch every word. For those with a hearing aid, a tele-coil (t-coil) is required to be activated in your hearing aid to tune directly into the hearing loop. We recommend checking with your hearing care professional. We also have hearing loop receivers with headphones available.
