New Conservation Technician: Tim Auld
Tim Auld was recently hired by the Caldwell-Travis Soil and Water Conservation District to help with Water Quality Management Plans in the Plum Creek Watershed.
Tim lives on a family farm southeast of Lockhart. He holds a B.S. in Resource and Environmental Studies from Texas State University and is pursuing an M.S. in Integrated Agricultural Sciences also at Texas State University. Tim’s thesis research involves soil microbial health, water cycling, and ecosystem services. His study site is the family farm, which he will convert from a dryland, commodity cropping system to a diverse agroecosystem, mimicking the native Blackland Prairie-Post Oak Savanna Biome.
Tim has served as a Plum Creek Watershed Partnership Steering Committee Member since 2016. He also serves on the Caldwell County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and is an owner and Board Member of The Central Texas Farmers’ Cooperative. Tim’s professional interests envelop the cross-section of regenerative agriculture, natural resource management, conservation easement strategies, cooperative land buying models, water and agricultural policy, local planning and development, and community building.
