October 2026

October has been a month of celebration, connection, and momentum as the Policy School marks its 20th anniversary. Our Fall Meet & Greet brought students, faculty, and staff together, while an advance screening of "Dukakis: Recipe for Democracy" reminded us of the importance of public service and leadership.

Our community continues to make an impact locally and globally. We congratulate Prof. Kaitlyn Alvarez Noli on receiving the Environmental Sociology Early Career Prize! Prof. Dan O’Brien explored “smart shrinking” with government leaders in Latvia, while Prof. Laura Kuhl’s research in Bangladesh informed four new policy briefs. And 12 Northeastern students, faculty, and alumni presented at the inaugural Communicating for a Better World conference in New York City

Please join us on November 5 at our 20th Anniversary Celebration. It will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, honor the people and achievements that have shaped our School, and imagine The Future We Design together. President Emeritus Richard Freeland and Founding Dean Barry Bluestone will attend.

Warmly,

Maria
