The Farm Economy Has Changed Since 2018
- The farm economy has changed significantly in the eight years since the 2018 farm bill was written.
- Farm production expenses have risen sharply, with higher interest rates increasing the cost of financing operations and capital purchases such as equipment and farmland.
- Farm debt continues to climb as producers finance increasingly expensive inputs and assets, while working capital has come under pressure.
- Higher farmland values have strengthened sector balance sheets, but rising land values and cash rents also increase the cost for beginning farmers or farmers who want to expand.
- These trends reinforce the need for farm policy that reflects the current costs, risks and capital requirements of agriculture rather than those of nearly a decade ago.

FARMERS NEEDED!!!
We are looking for a farmer to pick up our spent grains from the beer brewing process to use as feed for their livestock or whatever other purpose.
Typically we brew 2-4 times a week with anywhere from approximately 1000-2000 pounds of grain per brew day. I have attached a picture of how we typically would load the grain into a truck. Usually have 2 of these dump bins full each day and can be dumped in from our forklift or off our loading dock.

Spotted Lanternfly Arrives in New Hampshire: What Farmers Should Know
Spotted lanternfly (SLF) has been detected for the first time in New Hampshire, with a small number of adults confirmed in Rockingham County. While there is currently no evidence of an established population, growers should begin scouting now, particularly along field and vineyard edges, wooded areas, and near Tree-of-Heaven. Early detection, sanitation, equipment inspection, and other IPM practices will be important for limiting SLF establishment and spread. If you spot a suspected SLF, take a photo, record the location, and report it through NHBugs.

Join NHFB/NHAITC's Friendly Farmer Program!!!
We know there are educators out there looking to enrich their students with authentic ag experiences, as well as farmers interested in cultivating the next generation farmer. The difficulty is matching educator wishes with farmers, friendly farmers, looking to provide those experiences.
Would you be interested in taking your knowledge and agricultural experience to a classroom? Maybe you'd like to host an onsite visit, share your farm, barn, or market storefront?
The Friendly Farmer program is a way to connect farmers and ag leaders with classrooms and schools to offer authentic ag experiences. Help us grow together!
A partnership between NH Ag in the Classroom & NHFB.

If you enjoy the outdoors in the Granite State, you are at greater risk of encountering a tick and contracting a tick-borne illness, like Lyme disease. Now there is a way to know quickly if the tick that bit you, a loved one, or your pet has disease-causing pathogens.
Tick testing from the University of New Hampshire is now available to the public through UNH Extension. This service can alert you to the presence of a pathogen in a tick in as little as 3 days. It is information that helps you and your doctor or pet’s veterinarian decide if treatment is needed.
