HEALING TOGETHER

Sometimes trauma is a shared experience and the best way to heal is together. Sara and Angelina were sexually abused by an adult cousin. They were initially seen in therapy individually. Sara was not ready to discuss her abuse and would say that she was fine and didn’t need therapy. Angelina, on the other hand, was ready to talk about everything, was easily triggered, and would say how much she needed therapy. Eventually their therapist decided to bring both Sara and Angelina in for therapy together. Their individual strengths helped their personal limitations and Sara and Angelina were able to help each other heal from their abuse.
