Alzheimer's Disease International is a leading organization that raises awareness about this disease worldwide in September. The theme for the month in 2026 touches a nerve for me --- in part because of how often I hear the words: "I don't want to know."
"The Power of Knowing" ... the theme this year is to encourage people to find out. In just the short 5 years since my formal diagnosis, there have been many new drugs and treatments. A brand-new US Government support program offers those on Medicare one-on-one support. None of these are "available" if you "don't know."
Take a list to the blog! Check out the resources we mention, and look for a "Walk to End Alzheimer's in your community so you too can be part of the march to the cure."
