Greetings!

I grew up in a Christian home, and prayer was a part of our daily lives. We prayed before meals, before bed, when we were thankful and when we were hurting. We knew the words to say and when to say them. I was taught how to pray. But I’m not sure I ever learned the true value of prayer. The why to support the how.

In his book Prayer, Timothy Keller lays out the foundational reasons for prayer, calling it a “personal, communicative response to the knowledge of God.” You see, true prayer, real communication with God, cannot happen until we know God. Sure you can talk to God without knowing Him, much like you can talk to a stranger as you pass on the sidewalk. But prayer is so much more than simple dialogue! It goes deeper, to a place where words are often not needed and we simply bask in His presence. It is adoration, confession, and thanksgiving, before asking for our needs to be met. This does not happen until we study His Word and learn who He is.

At ECM, we believe in the power of prayer and are convinced of what He can and will do. We value your prayers, and ask that you lift up ECM often. We do the same for you, and whenever you share your specific needs with us, we ask God to intervene and rescue. Most of all, we pray that God will draw each of us closer to Him and overwhelm us with His love.

Let’s keep praying, learning, and growing, all the while giving glory to the God we long to know better, and whose love we long to share with a hurting world.

Praying with and for you,
Executive Director
Your Impact
Thank you so much for supporting us in helping to bring food relief to many families recently impacted by the COVID-19 lock down in Uganda. Because of your partnership we have been able to bless families with items such as: corn flour, bars of soap, beans, bananas, cooking oil, loaves of bread, packs of salt, sugar and clothing. We've also provided households with masks, sanitizers and liquid soap.

Watch this short video from Habyalimana Samuel expressing his gratitude towards ECM.
"My name is Haby Samuel. I want to thank the ECM project so much for everything which it has done for us. Today I was able to buy food for home use. I've bought posho. I've bought rice. I've bought cooking oil, soap, and beans because of ECM; because of the ECM project. I want to thank you very much for everything. May God bless you so much."

Grace's Sewing Business
As a person living with albinism, Grace was forced to kitchen duties because even her family did not see her worth for the future. Highly discouraged, Grace accepted what life had thrown at her and she stayed home.

In 2017, ECM heard of her plight and gladly added her to the ECM family at our Tororo Hope Center. In 2020 she joined our Next Step program to pursue training in sewing and, in March 2021, Grace was able to start her business of knitting and sewing after her sponsor donated money for a sewing machine and thread as her seed capital!

Grace is now happily married with a child and her sewing business is growing! She regularly helps others learn to accept and respect people with albinism as any other human being!
Prayer and Praise
  • Pray for our African staff as they faithfully carry out their duties day by day and further the mission and the Kingdom!

  • Praise! Joset Wells has been accepted to serve in Uganda. Pray for Joset as she begins making a budget, attending fundraising training, seeking God, connecting with potential supporters, and so many other things that will need to happen before she heads to Uganda.

  • Please continue to pray for Uganda, Ghana, and Congo during the COVID-19 pandemic. These countries have been hit so hard and have so little help compared to what we have available in the US. In many of our Hope Centers we are seeing escalated cases of violence against children, increased depression, hopelessness & stress, increased teen pregnancy and increased alcohol abuse by the parents. Please pray that God would bring healing and peace in these difficult times!
