Mother’s Day at Hushabye is a reminder that a mother’s presence can be the most powerful medicine a baby receives. Even in the hardest moments, when healing feels uncertain, we see the bond between a mom and her baby create calm, connection, and hope. We walk alongside mothers as they show up, day by day, learning, growing, and loving their babies through it all. Because babies don’t just need care, they need their moms.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the strength, courage, and love it takes to keep showing up—and the life-changing impact that love has on every baby we serve.

At Hushabye Nursery, we often talk about breaking cycles. This is what it looks like.

Clarissa first came to Hushabye as a pregnant mom seeking support. Through care, connection, and consistent engagement, she stabilized, welcomed her daughter, and began building a new path forward. But her story did not end there.

Clarissa came back.

Today, she serves as a Case Manager, walking alongside moms through pregnancy and postpartum, offering the same support that once changed her life.

A Mother's Day Story

While at Hushabye, Clarissa supported Tawni during her pregnancy. With that support, Tawni stabilized, is raising her daughter, and is a DCS Case Manager at Hushabye, helping parents understand their rights and advocate for themselves within the child welfare system.

Clarissa also supported Lisa during her pregnancy. Lisa is now an Engagement Case Manager, often the very first person a mom connects with when she is referred to Hushabye. She is currently expecting another child.

Together, these women represent something powerful. One mom becomes the support for the next. And then that mom becomes the support for someone else.

This is not just care. This is transformation that carries forward.

At Hushabye Nursery, our mission is “Embracing substance exposed babies and their caregivers with compassionate, evidence-based care that positively changes the course of their entire lives.”

This Mother’s Day, we are celebrating what happens when mothers are given the opportunity to heal, to grow, and to lead.

Because when you support one mom, you do not just change one life.

You change every life she goes on to touch.

Join us for a powerful evening that brings together a community of World Changers who believe every baby deserves a healthy start. What began as a hopeful vision has grown into a night of meaningful impact—raising critical funds to support substance-exposed newborns and the families who love them.

We invite you to be part of this special night by purchasing tickets or becoming a sponsor. Your support helps ensure that even the smallest stars have the brightest beginnings.

Anna Bose joined the team at Hushabye as an AmeriCorps team member in August, and she jumped in immediately and began making an impact with our babies and families. There's no project she will say 'no' to, and she's always consistent, dedicated and unwavering in the support she provides to keep things operating smoothly in the nursery. She is leaving soon for Medical School, and she will be greatly missed!

Hushabye Nursery continues to care for more babies and families than ever before, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for substance-exposed newborns and the parents who love them. Every day, we see healing, hope, and families finding strength together.

As a nonprofit, we rely on the support of our community to continue this important work. Your donation helps provide specialized care, family support, diapers, formula, transportation assistance, and so much more.

Every gift makes a difference. Together, we can ensure every baby has the chance at a healthy start.

Did you know... that some of the most powerful healing at Hushabye Nursery doesn’t happen through medication alone, but through connection?

At Hushabye, we intentionally create moments where parents and babies can bond in ways that many never thought possible. Something as simple as a lullaby, a quiet feeding, or skin-to-skin time can regulate a baby’s nervous system, decrease symptoms of withdrawal, and build the foundation for secure attachment.

We are also seeing something incredible within our walls: parents beginning to believe in themselves again. In a setting free of stigma, they are asking questions, engaging in care, and taking brave steps forward in their recovery journeys. That shift from fear and shame to confidence and connection is where real transformation begins.

Now you know.
