Fountain Valley School and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games
This past summer, several members of the Fountain Valley School family offered their support toward the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in various capacities. While none participated as athletes, their behind-the-scenes efforts impacted hundreds of countries and sports competing on the global stage. Among the below FVS alumni and former faculty/staff who contributed to the Summer Olympics was the late Annie Goodwin ’08, whose spirit and legacy live on through her horse, Bruno. #RideForAnnie

Kate Baum '19
Kate worked as a post-production assistant (PA) in NBC’s Athlete Features Department. Together with a producer and editor, Kate specialized in beach volleyball, water polo, surfing, and end credits. Her day-to-day responsibilities consisted of labeling and ingesting new footage, pulling select moments from each competition into edits, and making string outs and rough cuts of her edits. “It was an amazing experience to see how the live coverage gets from Paris to screen, and to witness the volume of people it takes to make something like the Olympics happen,” she said. “It was one of the best jobs I've ever had, and I am looking forward to Milan in 2026!"

Annie Goodwin '08
A 2023 Fountain Valley School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Annie passed away tragically in 2021 during a riding accident that occurred while pursuing her Olympic dreams. The 4-star horse that she had trained and was riding at the time, Fedarman B (also known as Bruno), was syndicated after her death and Annie's own trainer, Boyd Martin, rode the KWPN gelding in this year's Paris Summer Olympics. Annie's legacy lives on through Bruno's journey to the Olympics with Boyd, who competed for the U.S. eventing team.
