Beeps, Boops, Punched Tape, and a Career Trajectory for Dan Frost, Ph.D., Class of 1974
Dr. Dan Frost ’74’s early introduction to computers at FVS in 1973 led to a lauded Ph.D. and career in teaching computer science, artificial intelligence, and game design at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). "[Fountain Valley School] gave me a sense of what computers were and is where I first learned to program, which was rare for high school students at the time," said Dan, whose student file brims with praise from his teachers. His appetite for math is clearly evident as the driving force that motivated him to complete two college-level math courses entirely on his own while attending FVS.

Interim Expands Students' Geographical, Cultural & Social Horizons
Since the program's inception in 1973, Interim Expeditions have embraced the philosophy that students will thrive when given opportunities to expand their geographical, intellectual, cultural, and social horizons beyond the classroom. This March, Fountain Valley School's 51st annual Interim Expeditions sent students and faculty to a wide array of destinations — from international locations like Mexico, Tanzania, Spain, and Singapore, to U.S. states including Hawaii, Florida, and Alabama, and throughout Colorado. Celebrating the Return of Lacrosse at Fountain Valley School
Alumni and their families braved the wind, rain, and snow on April 27, 2024, to celebrate the return of boys' lacrosse at Fountain Valley School. Those who had not been back to campus for several years enjoyed a personal tour led by two current seniors. After cheering the boys on in a match against Air Academy, alumni, staff, players, and coaches gathered in the Julie and Spencer Penrose Athletic Center for a very special luncheon.
