CELEBRATING OUR COMMUNITY

1DAY1FVS

Thank you for your generosity!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s FVS annual giving day, 1DAY1FVS. Over 300 donors contributed more than $230,000 to support the students, programs, and experiences that make Fountain Valley School so special. FVS alumni and families came through in a big way, helping unlock every challenge gift along the way. Eighty parent donors unlocked $80,000 from an anonymous donor, while 150 alumni donors unlocked another $30,000 from six generous alumni donors! Your generosity keeps the Prairie thriving. Thank you for being part of 1DAY1FVS!

NEWS FROM THE PRAIRIE

A New Chapter Begins

Construction on the next phase of FVS begins in May!

In just a few weeks, the Lower Francis Mitchell Froelicher Academic Building and the Joel A. Webb Administrative Building will be demolished. Spaces that have shaped generations of students and will soon make way for new environments designed for how students learn and connect today. We're building an exciting future, and we can’t wait to share the progress with you.

Interim 2026

Adapting, Exploring, and Growing Around the World

From Forfar Field Station to the Baja Peninsula, from the rainforests of Puerto Rico to the streets of Paris, this year’s Interim Expeditions took students all over the map–and they came back different. A little more confident. A little more aware. A little more connected to the world beyond campus. Some of the most important moments came when plans changed. Students headed to Guanajuato shifted to Costa Rica just weeks before Interim. Others bound for Kauaʻi packed up after torrential flooding and continued their Malama ʻĀina work on Hawaiʻi’s Big Island. There’s nothing quite like travel to teach you how to adapt! Our students spent days on the water, picked up new languages, and got closer to the communities they were part of along the way–studying marine biology, kayaking the coast, earning scuba certification in Cozumel, and immersing themselves in places like Patagonia and Lima. They followed civil rights history from Montgomery to Memphis, experienced daily life in Beijing, worked alongside communities in Morocco, and climbed Joshua Tree National Park.

Celebrating 50 Years of Coeducation

Pat Kule, retired World Languages faculty member, had a front-row seat to this pivotal shift and witnessed how girls forever changed the Prairie. Her message still resonates: “Girlfriend, go take that world. Take it by the horns. Take it with your two hands. You have all the tools… just go forward, because you are it!”

Mary Crouter ’79 first visited the Prairie as a 10-year-old, never imagining she’d one day call it home. From transformative Interim trips and inspiring teachers to leadership roles and lifelong friendships, Mary’s experience shaped a path that led to law school and a distinguished law career, including serving as an Assistant Attorney General in Texas. Her story reflects the courage to try something new… and the power of a community that helps you discover your potential.

Here’s to 50 Years of Coeducation, and to people like Julie, Mary & Pat who helped shape it! We know there are so many more stories of the women who led the way and made a lasting impact. We’d love to hear about the women who shaped you. Share your story HERE.
