Proudly Celebrating 40 Years
|
|
In 1979, Premier Community HealthCare opened its doors as the East Pasco Health Center in the heart of Dade City, Florida, to reduce the healthcare deficit. Today, 40 years later, Premier has 10 clinics throughout Pasco and Hernando Counties and continues to break down barriers to quality, affordable and accessible care. Healthcare and medical records have come a long way since the 1970s, and we are so proud to reflect on how much we have accomplished in the past 40 years.
As we commemorate this momentous milestone, we are steadily and strategically revealing components to our campaign. At the end of February, we unveiled our laser-cut, metallic gold anniversary logo on social media through sharing time capsule historic facts. Later this summer, our Fund Development Committee will announce a community-wide celebratory event. Details will follow.
We are honored to be a part of a thriving healthcare network and will continue to evolve and meet the needs of the community while fulfilling our mission of providing accessible healthcare services for all. Whether you are a new patient or a partner or have been connected to our cause since our infancy, we sincerely thank you for choosing Premier and we look forward to continuing to offer wrap-around services to anyone in need of care.

February was a month-long national observance of Children’s Dental Health, designated to raise public awareness about the importance of children’s oral health. On February 8th, Premier hosted a FREE Children’s Dental Day. Oral health care should start from day one. By showing children at a very young age the importance of taking care of their teeth and gums every day, parents will be providing them with a lifetime of healthy smiles.

As March,
Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
comes to a close, we encourage you to
learn more about colorectal cancer and how it can be prevented or best treated.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States for both men and women combined.
This year, approximately 140,000 new cases of colorectal cancer will be diagnosed, and 56,000 people will die from the disease.
"But colorectal cancer is a disease that can be prevented through regular screenings, a healthy diet and regular exercise," explains Chief Medical Officer, Delisa Heron, MD.
Since there are very few symptoms associated with colorectal cancer, regular screening is essential. Screening is beneficial for two main reasons: colorectal cancer is preventable if polyps that lead to the cancer are detected and removed, and it is curable if the cancer is detected in its early stages.
