Dear Prestonwood Montessori at E.D. Walker Families,

We cannot wait to welcome back our students and families on Monday. Our campus is buzzing with preparations for the incredible year to come. Teachers and staff have leveled up their passion, commitment, and joy this school year. They've stepped up and out of their roles to help each other, discuss creative ideas to better our work, and create a welcoming environment for all.

This is just the beginning and we are excited to see all the ways we continue to level up together with our students and families!

Sincerely,

Ashley Toole (Principal)

Kimtesha Madlock (Assistant Principal)

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

In order to keep our children safe we ask everyone to please use the carpool lane. Parents should remain in the car and pull up to the loading zone, where staff will help students out of the car/car seats and walk them to their classrooms.

Carpool Instructions

  • Entrance (star on the map) - Use Wozencraft & Monfort entrance in the mornings and afternoons.
  • Flow of traffic (blue arrow) - Pay attention to cones and staff members who will direct the flow of traffic

Arrival: 1 Line of cars

Dismissal: 2 Lines of cars

  • The loading/unloading zone (red rectangle) - staff will help students out/into the car and car seats. To ensure the safety of children this is the ONLY area where students will enter or exit a vehicle.
  • Safety Zone (green rectangle)- If you need to secure a car seat you can pull up to the safety zone.
  • Pulling your call all the way down is critical for the flow of traffic. Thank you for doing your part by pulling all the way down and keeping your eyes on the road.

In order to create the safest, most efficient and welcoming environment for our kids, parents need to remain in their vehicle during arrival and dismissal. Please DO NOT walk your child to the door.

Thank you for helping us develop independence and confidence starting on the first day of school.

Registration

If you have not registered your child for this school year, please do so TODAY.

Need help? Check out our registration guide.

Buses

Students who ride the bus should select their neighborhood school as their bus stop. Students will need their own transportation to the neighborhood elementary school where they will be picked up by the bus and transported to Prestonwood.

Toilet Training

We expect children will be tolieting independently at the start of the school year.

Accidents do happen. And, for this reason we expect all pre-school students to pack a change of labeled clothes. We encourage Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade students to do this as well.

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunch is free for all students and will be served in the classroom daily. 4th graders will eat lunch in the cafeteria.

If you child has a special dietary restriction please contact the school Nurse, Zelda Saxton gcasasdegramajo@dallasisd.org

Important Reminders from Nurse Saxton

PreK 3 and PreK 4 students must provide current vaccine records to the nurse.

If your student has a special diet/allergies, or will need medication at school, please reach out to Nurse Saxton for the appropriate paperwork.
