Uniforms

The Prestonwood uniform consists of the following:

Top: White, Navy Blue and Light Blue

Bottoms: Grey and Navy Blue

• Students must wear athletic shoes, loafers, dress shoes, or other closed-toe, closed-heel shoes.
• Jackets are not limited to uniform colors. They must be appropriately sized and worn over an approved uniform. They may not contain offensive slogans, symbols, or other suggestive or controversial designs.

Clear Backpacks Required

In an ongoing effort to ensure safer schools, Dallas ISD will require clear backpacks for all students starting in the 2023-2024 school year.

To support families, each student will be provided a clear backpack at no cost.

Supply Lists

Primary Supplies (PreK and Kinder)

There are no supplies to be purchased for primary classrooms. The Title 1 funds and previous PTO donations covered all supplies for the upcoming school year.

Our primary guides are only requesting a one-time supply fee per child so they can purchase classroom materials they need. For more information, click here.

Lower and Upper Elementary Supplies (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th)

Click here for the lower elementary supply list. We highly recommend you consider purchasing a supply kit through our PTO. The supply kits will be delivered directly to the school before the school year begins.

Thank you to all our families and teachers who contributed feedback and input throughout the first semester on our transition to 4th grade in 2023. We have great news to share which leads to a change in our 4th-grade configuration for Dual Language.

Our recruitment of new families has been hugely successful for our 3rd and 4th-grade applications and classes are growing! We are excited to welcome several new 3rd and 4th-grade families who were previously in Dual Language programs. Due to this increase in applications, we have a total of 17 4th-grade Dual Language students and therefore will have 1 Dual Language 4th-grade class for Upper Elementary and 4 Dual Language classes for 1st-3rd Grade in Lower Elementary. This will allow even more students to remain with their teacher for another year in both the 2023-2024 school year and the 2024-2025 school year.

Our next Pupdate will be sent next week and will introduce all of our staff and their roles for this school year.

We have two exciting options for after school care next year. Big Thought will be our on-campus provider. Club J (with a minimum commitment of 14 students) will be an off-campus provider at the JCC.

If you choose Big Thought, there will be additional enrichment options on campus. We will have chess, dance, arts, STEAM, and Spanish.

We are excited to announce the following after school enrichment opportunities! Our PTO worked hard to find a diverse set of activities for our students. The following after school opportunities are offered to all Prestonwood students. Please keep in mind:



• some activities will only be available if the minimum enrollment is met.
• there are some scholarship opportunities for these programs. If interested, please email the program and Cc Ms. Toole (atoole@dallasisd.org).
• If your child is enrolled in Big Thought (next year's on-campus after school programming provider), your child can also participate in the following programs.

The Knight School Chess classes will take place

Tuesdays 3:30 - 4:30 pm.

Donate Used Uniforms

Donate your used uniforms to the PTO! We will do a $1-$5 resale at Meet the Teacher. If you have uniforms, spirit shirts or jackets you'd like to donate, you can drop them off at Mackenzie's house on the porch. 6621 Rolling Vista Drive Dallas 75248 (about 8 minutes from school). A Valley View/Marsh or M Streets/East Dallas drop off also available, please reach out for address.
