Happy Easter: Easter is a time of joyous celebration. It is also a time for our Priory family to reflect on all the memories we've made over the past year, and excitedly look forward to the rest of the school year as a time to continue to celebrate our students' accomplishments and growth. I am proud of our kind and caring community that works together to support each other and The Priory. On behalf of all The Priory Faculty and Staff, I wish you all a happy and blessed holiday weekend.

Gate Code Change: For safety and security reasons, as of Tuesday, April 6, a new gate code will be in effect. To open the gate and leave the premises, parents will be required to enter the code “147A” at the bottom of the front stairs. For the safety of our children, please do not share the gate code with anyone, especially not with our younger students.

Easter Extravaganza: The Priory Panther teamed up with the Easter Bunny for our special Easter giveaway at the Buchanan House. There were smiles all around, and it was truly heart-warming to see our Priory families in person! Please enjoy our Priory family portraits. Thank you for the beautiful memories!

April Fool's Day Pranks! Pulling April Fool’s Day student and teacher pranks are a fun tradition at The Priory. This day of fun practical jokes always brings big smiles, much laughter and fills our Priory home with lots of joy!
Here are just a few pranks performed by our faculty and staff:
- Since we all feel strongly about Mr. St-Pierre being a gift to The Priory, we surprised our Head of School with a special "gift".
- Since we all know how much our students enjoy writing ministerial exams, we set up the gym, exam-style seating, and had our Grade 6 students take this written assignment very seriously.
- Since we all know how much our students enjoy visits from field experts, one class took part in a Zoom prank that involved a pretend Zoologist from Granby Zoo, proceeding to tell the students about how they don’t really care about the animals, they just use them for entertainment.
- Since we all know how much our students love being silly, one class turned the document camera so that the students in the class were facing upside down.
- Since we all know how important it is to follow daily schedule plans, one class had funny and silly options for the day.
- Since we all know how hard our students work for their grades, one class was given fake math tests with bad grades on them.
- Since we all know how much our students love celebrating holidays, students from one class were greeted in the morning with Christmas music and pretended it was Christmas time all over again.

Photo Day: The Priory School individual, sibling and class photos will be held outdoors on Wednesday, April 21 (with a rain date the following day).
Dress Code:
The dress code for photo day for students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 is the physical education uniform (Priory jogging pants, Priory polo shirt and white sport socks). For our Grade 6 students, the dress code for photo day is Priory dress uniform. We will reach out to our graduating parents with a uniform questionnaire inquiring about uniform needs. The plan is to lend out used uniforms for our graduates if needed.
Photos:
Given that photos will be taken at a safe distance, as it stands, individual student and sibling photos will be taken without wearing a face mask. Due to the need for social distancing, students and faculty will be required to wear a face mask for the class group photos this year. However, class composite photos, using the individual student photos, will also be offered this year in addition to the traditional class group photos.

Lunch and Snack Survey: A friendly reminder that the Lunch and Snack Survey will close tomorrow, Monday, April 5. Please take a few minutes to complete the following short lunch and snack survey, based on your child’s feedback. If you have more than one child attending The Priory, please fill in a separate survey for each child. All survey responses will be anonymous. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete our survey. Your feedback is very important to us.

Student Water Bottles: As COVID regulations persist, we continue to maintain tight health protocols and would like to remind parents and students of the importance of bringing in their own personal filled water bottles. We have seen an increase of students asking for refills or bottled water from the office. To reduce unnecessary movement through the school and personal contact, it is important that students have at least two large filled water bottles when they arrive for school each morning. Spring is here and thirst levels will increase with more activity, so we ask that you please be prepared for the busy day.

|
Gently-Used Priory Uniform Sale and Graduation Fundraiser: Do you have outgrown Priory uniforms that your children can no longer use? Please consider donating them back to The Priory! To help protect the environment and keep these items in use, the Graduation Planning Committee will sort and sell the gently-used clothing for a nominal fee during an upcoming uniform sale in mid-April. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the Class of 2021 graduation party. Donated items will be accepted all week during morning drop-off, and placed in The Buchanan House for quarantine. Thank you for your support!

The Easter Bunny came for a visit and helped Priory Panther give out a special Easter surprise for our children!

Continuing to Keep our Priory Community Safe
Masks: Please be advised that each morning as children enter their homeroom class, their face mask from home is systematically replaced with the mandatory procedural face mask to ensure quality criteria are met. We ask our families to continue to send your child to school with a fresh, dry and clean face mask, as well as a resealable bag to store the cloth face mask.
