Dr. Murthy's recommendations for Health Practitioners includes:

Proactively engaging with patients and the public on health misinformation. "Doctors, nurses, and other clinicians are highly trusted and can be effective in addressing health misinformation. If you are a clinician, take the time to understand each patient’s knowledge, beliefs, and values".

Listening. "Listen with empathy, and when possible, correct misinformation in personalized ways".

Using language that is accessible to all patients. "Consider using less technical language when addressing health concerns".

Promoting Health Literacy. "Find opportunities to promote patient Health Literacy on a regular basis".
