Welcome to The Pulse! Please take a minute to check out what's happening at Church of the Apostles.
|
Please join your church in praying for the following requests for the life and mission of the church:
+ Please pray for our Mission Partner, Hope Reins, the equestrian therapy ministry that we heard from on Sunday. Pray that the Lord would provide the people, horses and other resources needed to care for young people who have been through trauma and can be healed by God through this work.
+ Pray for our clergy and Leadership Council, gathering next week for their retreat, that they may have discernment and clarity about our church's focus and future plans for the building of your Kingdom.
+ Pray for our current Fellows class, that they would take joy in what God is doing to transform them by the renewing of their minds, as he prepares them for a life of following Jesus in all that they undertake.
+ Pray for our Bishop, Steve, as he recovers from knee surgery. Pray that the Lord will heal him physically, and that he will be strengthened to recover and continue to serve Christ and his Kingdom by overseeing the churches in our diocese.

 Southeast Regional Retreat
We will be hosting the Southeast Regional Retreat,
February 7-9 for the churches in our region. This year's Regional Retreat topic is Taking the Broader Synod Theme of Immigration and the Scriptures and Applying Them at the Regional Level with speaker Rev'd Chris Schutte of All Saints Durham.
You are invited to join us on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
{Thursday and Friday are rector and ministry leader meetings.}

Serve Saturdays
Beginning Saturday, February 2nd, we will take work crews to Wilmington to continue rebuilding homes damaged or
destroyed in the wake of Hurricane Florence last fall. We will be partnering with our church plant, Christ Our Hope
Wilmington. These trips will take place the first Saturday of the month ~ February thru June. Contact Steve Zimmerman for more information: [email protected].

Regional Retreat Volunteers Needed!
As hosts of the Regional Retreat, we are looking for volunteers to:
1) Provide a room for an out of town guest. Meals are not needed, but several folks attending need a place to stay.
2) Serve on the Retreat Team. We need 2-3 people willing to help with registration, directions, and setting up catered meals during the event. Needed Thursday thru Saturday.

Happy New Year from the team at
Gateway! We wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your prayers and generous gifts to the ministry last year. With your help, 316 mother chose life for the babies at Gateway in 2018. Thank you for bringing help, hope and the love of Jesus Christ to women and their partners at Gateway.

GLOBAL
Through our partnerships in Rwanda we were able to help them take part in the
Jesus Film Project which seeks to
bring the greatest story of all time to everyone, everywhere, in every language. Last year, 4,090 people viewed the film and over 1,000 responded by being prayed for, encouraged and becoming new believers. Praise God!

Please be in prayer for thousands of Christian churches in Rwanda that have been closed by government authorities siting noncompliance with health, safety, and noise regulations. Pray that these churches may open back up without issue to continue to share the gospel in their country.
