North York General recently approved an extension of the current strategy into 2019. Find out about some of the projects we will be focusing on.

Building a bond through scented cloths  

The scented cloth program gives parents another way to create a special connection with their baby.
In July, our Tippet Foundation Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is launching its scented cloth program.

"The idea behind this initiative is for parents to have another way  to create a special connection with their baby," says NICU Social Worker Andrea Peter.  

Phillips House redevelopment update 

The addition to Phillips House being erected in June 2018.
Construction is underway at the Phillips House. This once-dormant heritage estate is being transformed into a one-of-a-kind setting for ambulatory and transitional mental health services for children, adolescents and their families. 

Hot car summer safety

Children are more prone to heatstroke.
As temperatures soar during summer, our vehicles can quickly become a dangerous hot box for babies and children.

Dr. Lara Rosenberg, a Physician in Family Medicine Obstetrics, offers important safety tips to keep young passengers safe. 

What's up with warts?  

Common warts are most often seen on the back of fingers or toes or around nails.
Did you know warts are caused by an infection of the skin with the human papillomavirus, also know as HPV?   

Dr. Danny Chan, a Physician in Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Medicine, answers nine frequently asked questions about warts.

The new Chair of North York General Hospital's Board of Governors,  Samuel Elfassy, is Vice President, Safety at Air Canada and has been an NYGH Board member since 2011.
