The new face of digital health at NYGH
When it comes to North York General Hospital's (NYGH) digital health strategy, Duska Kennedy is thinking beyond the hospital's seven sites.

As the new Chief Digital Officer, Duska's vision includes building on NYGH's extensive electronic medical record system, expanding virtual health care, connecting IT systems across the North York Toronto Health Partnership and providing patients with digital health tools.

The changing landscape of long-term care:
How North York General is helping to pave the way
The COVID-19 pandemic has gripped the globe, forcing many changes to the way care is delivered in long-term care settings. Much like the virus, the experience on the frontline is unprecedented.

"The pandemic has really highlighted the strength of our team, an appreciation for our shared vision of keeping people safe, and the importance of adapting to changing conditions. Through it all, our team has rallied support and put their best foot forward," says Christine Ramdeyol, Director of Care at Seniors' Health Centre.

Practicing self-care:
Giving your mind, body and spirit room to flourish
The hospital's Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness department implemented initiatives and provided resources to cultivate resilience, manage stress, and strengthen teamwork.

Several of NYGH's frontline workers take a moment to answer how they practice self-care.

Thank you for your kindness
Over the past five months, our world has been turned upside down. But, this hasn't stopped our community from stepping up and showing their support. In fact, these difficult times have brought out the best in people.

NYGH has always known how fantastic its community is and has been shown time and time again over the last 50 plus years.

Research Spotlight: Dr. Braden O'Neill
Dr. Braden O'Neill, Family Physician in the Family and Community Medicine Program at North York General Hospital is currently leading three COVID-19 related studies.

"NYGH is at the forefront of an integrated-community response to COVID-19. We were one of the first hospitals to test people who live in group settings such as shelters and long-term care homes, and we remain one of the highest volume testing centres in the province," says Dr. O'Neill.
