PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
Please join your church in praying for the following requests for the life and mission of the church:

+ Pray for Rev. Jay and Elizabeth Traylor, and their son Gus, as they move to Staunton, VA, to begin work on the church plant. Pray for the blessing, presence and power of God to direct them daily.

+ Pray also for the people of Puerto Rico on the heels of massive earthquakes, that the church would respond with compassion and relief work, to the glory of God.

+ Pray for our Fellows, who just returned from a retreat meant to help them with future career and vocational discernment. Pray for God's wisdom, direction and provision for the future.

WHAT'S HAPPENING @ APOSTLES
From The Pastoral Search Team
The Pastoral Search Team is in the process of both getting a clear sense of the heart-beat of Apostles and discerning God's will around who He is calling to serve as our next Senior Pastor. Currently, the team is preparing the Church Profile and the Pastoral Profiles which will help us in that task. While there are expected to be multiple avenues for feedback and communication, if you want to communicate with this team you can also do so via [email protected]. Thank you for continuing to intercede for this process and for the team. May God's will become clear.

There will be an informational meeting on January 19 for anyone interested in the Rwanda Partnership Trip this summer. {July 17-25, 2020}.  This trip will be an opportunity to build new and strengthen existing relationships with our Rwandan brothers and sisters at Church of Gikomero, our sister church, and the Shyogwe Diocese.  Contact Teresa Kincaid with any questions: [email protected] .

Division is nothing new and yet many of us feel ill-equipped to bridge the numerous divides in our current culture. Join us for a evening of discussion as we hear from two authors,
Amy Julia Becker and Natasha Sistrunk Robinson, who have spent a lot of time on this topic, and reflecting on what Jesus means when he calls us to "love our neighbors"--regardless of our own social,  ethnic, religious, or cultural background.

Essentials Membership Class {led by Art Going + others}
Considering membership at Church of the Apostles? Want to learn more about who we are? Join us for our new membership program, Essentials.

Loving Our Neighbors {led by Robin Bolash}
An expert in the Jewish law asked Jesus a good question: "Who is my neighbor?" We struggle to love our neighbors because of social, cultural and ethnic differences and live in a world deeply divided and broken along those same lines. Through Bible study, guest speakers, and personal stories, we will explore answers to this question as we seek to grow in our love for others.

Screens and Teens {led by Paul Morales + panel}
Good news! It is possible to use screens well and to keep them from becoming our kids' entire world. This class, through video and discussion, will offer a theology of technology, tips for discipling kids with their screens, and more.

Translating the Gospel {led by John Farwell}
Paul taking the Gospel to the Greek world. How do you take a thoroughly Jewish story of redemption and translate it into the Greek culture. We have the same opportunity today!
